Review summary

Alaska should be on everyone’s list......can’t say enough good things about our trip. If you can take time off, fly into seattle for a few days, then head up to vancouver. Both cities are awesome! Then do the northbound inside passage cruise arriving at Seward. All the ports are wonderful, and cruising at Hubbard Glacier was amazing. Captain Alex was the nicest ship captain ever, and he gave us the best day of glacier watching imaginable. Be sure to do a land tour once in Seward, and DO NOT miss Mt. Denali!!! Saving the best for last, was such a treat for us all. Celebrity did a fantastic job and we will never forget this adventure of a lifetime!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Boarding in Vancouver was the easiest embarkation ever. The taxi took us right into the garage and dropped us off right outside the check in area. Within 15 minutes, we were onboard the Millenium!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main Dining Room was great, we had a wonderful group of people who we met the first night, and over 7 nights, we became like a family! Rock on , Table 215!!! Food was excellent, buffet was excellent, omlet station always the best. For dinner the stir fry station can’t be beat. All great!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
A really great offering was Celia Garland, the onboard naturalist. She gave informative lectures on many topics related to our trip.....whales, eagles, and more. Celebrity gets a big thanks for having this great lady onboard!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Celebrity has the best “house band” I’ve ever heard on a ship......They are called Next Stage, a terrific group from the Phillipines, who ROCKED the ship every night!! Their songbook of over 600 songs was the perfect entertainment for us old Hippies! Thanks, Lanie, Delgie, Jerome, Sam, and Jungco!!! If you are lucky enough to cruise with them, you’ll have a great time!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Celebrity staff was awesome, as always. Service was outstanding. Fantastic Waiters, cabin stewards, officers, and the BEST captain ever!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This is not the largest ship but it’s medium size allows you to meet many of your fellow passengers over the cruise. Nice lounges are fun for music and dancing. Lots of cool nooks and crannies where you can enjoy a book. Dining Room has a huge aft-facing window with great views of the sea. The Millenium is a very nice, very clean ship, we’ll certainly be back!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The Alaska cruise is the one, where you should splurge on a veranda cabin. You don’t want to miss any of the fabulous scenery out there! Our cabin steward “D” kept everything tidy and nice for us.

Ship tip

An Alaska cruise is the one for which you should splurge on a BALCONY!

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities! We biked for 20 miles around Stanley Park and the lovely waterfront. You can ride forever without crossing a street! What a vibrant city! Fantastic views from our hotel on Robson Street in downtown. Highly recommend the Blue Horizon Hotel.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Best shore excursion there is the Bering Sea Crab Boat tour! A real Alaskan crabbing boat, run by the real fishermen who worked up north. This boat, the Aleutian Ballad, was featured in the tv show “Deadliest Catch” and was hit by a rogue wave. A fantastic tour with these guys, who really know their alaska king crabs!

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
Great unspoiled spot, and only room for one ship. So it felt very uncroweded. Whale-watching is the thing to do here!

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
What a lovely little city Juneau is. Explore the town, then do the tram, visit Mendenhall Glacier, and more Whale-watching!

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
The White Pass railway trip is a MUST-DO in Skagway! Incredible scenery and lots of fun riding this historic train as it hugs the mountainside. Stand on the outside platform for great photo ops too!

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska Did not visit port

It was dark out when we arrived at 6am. Off the ship and onto a motorcoach and off to Anchorage.
