Review summary

I have to be honest and say I did not enjoy Vietnam at all. I would never go back and was disapointed how 3rd world it really is. Im glad Ive seen what I have seen - but willl never return. Taiwan was great - the 1 oport I saw due to me being sick. The ovver all cruise was great - we met lovely people at out MDR Dining Table and will keep in contact. Maybe our expetations were too high after our last cruise to Alaska. It wont stop us cruising but I wouldnt return to those countries.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
food wsa not up to usual Celebrity standard, Steak asked to be medium rare was raw! Often having to be sent back. We hd to askk for a bowlof green veges as we were not given any on our plates. Xmas Day was very dissapointing with no Festive meal as such. No trimmingand traditions such as Xmas Crackers. I know they are not just a New Zeland tradition. Many others around the ship were saying the same thing.

Entertainment

All shows were excellent. We had seen a repeat of 1 of the production crew on another Celebrity ship. But thats Ok

Service and Staff

I dont think it was up to the standard of previous cruises. Out table assistatnt admited this was his first crise and ha no idea how to serve gravies, sauces and veges. Our table members gave him lessons. Yes he asked for top ratings in our survey.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very very clean - there ws someone opening the mian toilet doors to help lessen the rate of infection. I have come home with a terrible head cold and body flue adn a lot of people were coughing and sneezing around the ship. I confined myself to my rom ofr 2 days adn didnt goto MDR on 2 nights so as not to pass on.

Cabin / Stateroom

our excursion fid nit occur as there were only 2 couples. So they 2 hours later offloaded us on to another tour which was not what we had paid for,We had paid for your excursion order 623317. Was complee muck up. we stood around for 2 hours while no one would tell us what was happening.

Chan May (Hue), Vietnam

filthy shops and markets. Water and sewer running down the streets as there had been heavy rains.

Phu My (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam

2 out of 5
very hot - high humidity - mixture of high end shops and broken down old market type shops. Also not clean. The Laquer ware trip was good. Post Office Presidentts Palce etc were a waste of time

I have to say we loved Vietnam. We knew what we were getting into. We took the ship excursion and lunch was included, but we brought our own lunch from the ship. This is a third world country, but the people were very pleasant to us and always smiled. It just really make you appreciate what we have in the USA. Even in my wildest dream did I think I would like it. I would do it again.

As Celebrity rec9mebd it as a port to call. I would think it's Celebrities fault 🤡

What makes you qualified to decide that?
