Review summary

A tired and sad knockoff of a formerly great Cruise Line.  Many misses including food quality, service and staff morale.  A few good people surrounded by mediocre staffers or should I say "Slackers" at all levels.  Top management disregarded specific examples of cruise deficiencies.  All they were interested in was in collecting your prepaid gratuities and then they had no interest in you the passenger.  Would not recommend the new and substandard Celebrity Cruise Line as it is just a poor example of it's former self.  All that is left is bad management, corporate greed and bottom line profits and to hell with the passengers!

A few good folks but most are only looking for the tips I'm sad to say.

Nice balcony cabin, no complaints.

Ship tip

Not the nice and upscale Cruise Line you had gone on in the past. Celebrity has fallen victim to corporate greed and a "rest on your laurels" philosophy. Pass on Celebrity if you know what is good for you!

as soon as the automatic gratuities kick in, I go to customer service and have them removed

Skyrider beware the automatic gratuities kick-in when Select / Anytime Dining is requested.  They are no longer optional or adjustable per top management in this significant case!  You are forced to participate in this conniving scheme as a source at Celebrity admits that "they keep" close to 40% of the automatic gratuities for themselves and is not shared with the staff.  How is that for an eye-opener?

And never prepay gratuities. ... tip what they are worth at the end

Pass Celebrity on by if high quality food, beverage and great service is important to you.  Everything is a nickel and dime ordeal (beware their sneaky drink packages for what it doesn't cover)!  Value and a sense of decency and respect is dead at Celebrity.
