Good experience with the cruise

Sail Date: June 27, 2014

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Oceanview

This is my first time cruising with Celebrity.  In general, I had good time with the experience.  However, if I have to be critical, comparing to other cruiselines we have taken before (not Alaska though), I believe Celebrity still has many rooms to improve.

On-board activities:  The on-board activities are limited comparing to others, even on crusing days.  We were a little bored with 2 kids from time to time.  Of course there are many fee-based activities like casino and drinking but public, free activities are liminited.

Food:  There are many promotions for fine dining.  The included meals are not bad but again comparing to other cruiselines, the foods are not on top either.

Ship Quality
We hope ship would have more amenities
Food and Dining
not bad but not great either.
Service and Staff
In general the staff are polite but nothing specially impressed us at the same time.
Entertainment
not too many entertainment choices on board
Children's Programs
There are a play place for small kids but nothing specificly for teenagers.
Onboard Activities
not many choices except fee-based ones.
Destinations and Excursions
Excursions are beautiful and full of activities
Cabin / Stateroom Room is good, beautiful
Seward (Anchorage), Alaska
We didn't do much there but there are many things to do if you prefer
Cruise Hubbard Glacier
Nice experience if you haven't done so.
Juneau, Alaska
We did most of our heavy lifting activities there like helicopter ride and whale watching etc.
Skagway, Alaska
We didn't do too many things there because we want to watch World Cup in the theater on board. Nice experience with other soccer fans from all over the places
Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska
We did ziplineing there. Nice expereince but not take much of your time.
Ketchikan, Alaska We toured the town for 3 hours and that's pretty much all you can do. Of course you can catch up some standard acitivities if you haven't done that before.
Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska
beautiful cruising experience but you may get bored on board
Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia
Vancouver is beautiful and not too large to get around.

Tip

Please plan excursions carefully to maximize your experience on this cruise. If you don't want to take too many on-shore activities, you may end of getting bored on the ship. However, it is a good way to relax if you prefer that way.
