Glad we went and saw such an amazing place as well as unexpected new places off the boat. Met a couple on board a became friends and shared much with them. Glad we did it once so now to figure out our next vacation.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Quick and easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
I chose Celebrity to see if the food and service was an improvement over HAL. Unfortunately, they are pretty much the same. Food was not great and small portions which is OK since you can east 24 hours a day. Wait staff was hit or miss, some were really fun others were just doing their job and it showed.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We did not participate in many onboard activities other than the lectures which were quite good in preparation for the Canal. The other things were not our thing and we just did what we felt was good for us.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Shows were fantastic a huge change from HAL. The entertainers were spot on with their singing and dancing, the 2 aerialists were incredible, 3 comedy acts were all very funny. The juggler was a scream.
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our room steward was very good as he took care of any of the things we asked for and did so quickly. Waiters were not the same, some good some bad.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Reminded us of HAL, but all was clean and layout allowed for many steps and stairs which was perfect to get in some steps. All areas were well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The size was a little small but it had sufficient storage for a 15 day cruise, lots of drawers and closet space for hanging things. It was great we could store our 3 bags under the bed so they were not in the way. The veranda was nice to be outside without the noise of the pool and lounge areas. Bathroom was adequate and shower area was good size.
Ship tip
Don't expect the moon unless you pay for a suite or Aqua Class accommodations. The ship is comfortable and easy to navigate. They did have news channels on the in room TV which was nice. Shore excursions were not all great.
A place to come and stay for a week to really get a true feel. We had booked a tour but it was cancelled at the last minute and went in to town with friends instead.
We took the Tikal tour which was fairly expensive as it includes a one hour plane ride but it was worth it to us since who knows when we will see Mayan Temples again.
Very disappointing tour. Spent hours on a bus and very little time at the Cloud Forest. There had been a large storm a week before which added to the issues but if that was the case it would have been better to have informed guests about the fact that it would be a long bus tour day rather than on your feet.
Fantastic, this is a must do trip for anyone who likes to visit an amazing architectural masterpiece. Glad we went to the lectures so we were better informed.
