Review summary

From the minute details to the impeccable timing, this cruise was a pampering on a grand scale. Elegantly casual in all respects. Far beyond a floating resort hotel in that the staff made me feel like I was part owner of this larger-than-life condo. From a deck hand varnishing the mahogany railing who stopped to explain the process as well as the beauty of the traditional seafaring hardwood to the Ships Captain casually strolling around his ship almost incognito to get a "take" on the ship's mojo. Always a smile and warm greeting. And not forced by any means. All one needs to do is have a concerned, lost or sad look on one's face and a crew member will show up to help!

Don't get me started on the groceries! 5 Star gourmet dinners every night. exquisitely presented by our own wait staff! Did I say every night! If one wishes. Or not. The buffet offers an incredible array of beautifully presented world cuisine with variations daily. Delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner plus a late night Pizza Bar for the munchies.

Entertainment aboard ship is often and fun ranging from stage acts, BINGO, Silent Disco at the Martini Bar (headphones with a DJ) is a Do-Not-Miss party event! A rocking generous Casino with lots of penny slots, Craps, Roulette, Blackjack, Texas Hold'em and more.

My cabin was awesome! Surprisingly comfortable bed and pillows, a comfy couch for just sitting and reading in air conditioned comfort and quiet. Or relaxing on my spacious balcony to simply sit and gaze on the horizon wondering what lays just beyond. Some mornings to just enjoy the sunrise with hot delicious coffee delivered at the time of my choice before heading to the spa area for a morning stretch was simply bliss.

Yes, I paid a premium price traveling alone.  Well worth the price. Just be cautious of the booze packages.....The Infinity is a mid-size to small ship and set up for discerning adults. Not many children, about 8 on my cruise.

Then there's the new friends! My late dinner sitting was with 4 other shipmates who ended up being tour mates and party mates! Sometimes BINGO!, sometimes High Tea, or maybe a stage show with an incredible array of entertainment!

If one gets bored on the Celebrity Infinity, One should seek counseling......

The hardest part is figuring where I will cruise to next!

If you are a penny pincher and can deal easily with huge crowds, by any means go on a cheaper, gigantic, overpopulated ship.

I'll stick with Celebrity!

I worked and saved for an adventurous retirement. I could go cheap. I also could go in style! Guess my choice.....

Joe.

Spacious, comfortable, well appointed, clean, relaxing and my home away from home.

Ship tip

Ask all the questions you may have before you board. Choose excursions early but ask questions. Some tour companies are too expensive for a long bus ride or a shopping trip. One can only buy so many trinkets.....

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Great place to leave from..........

Cartagena, Colombia

Same trinkets, great history, intriguing....

Colon, Panama

Trinkets all over the place.....Pushy sales people and extreme humidity...Bla. Humbling walk into the local town was a dose of reality. Then I walked, fast, back to the safety of the ship.......

Panama Canal Transit

5 out of 5
Epic adventure on the locks.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

3 out of 5
too many junk sellers, poverty and obvious depressed economy of a 3rd World Country. A good reminder of my personal blessings.......

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

3 out of 5
depressing poverty, squalor and too many trinket sellers selling the same made-in-china like stuff. Definatly stay aboard or go to Antigua for a day trip. That's worth it...

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
Fun trip into the mountain jungles for an awesome Mexican food cooking class in a rustic riverside, open-air restaurant! Lots of fun and plenty of food and tequila! Great value.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Took a short boat ride on a Picante Sportfishing yacht! Absolutely beautiful run up the coast on a luxurious fishing boat to observe sea turtles, whales, porpoises, and Sea Lions.

San Diego, California

Great place to depart from!
