Review summary

We loved this itinerary and the experience of being on Celebrity for it.  We've done about 12 cruises so far, and now 3 with this cruise line and it's become our favorite.  I read elsewhere some negative reviews of the ship and/or staff but I guess people can always find something to whine about.  We have twice now booked an "Aqua Class" balcony statement because of the extra perks that come with it -- the one of note being access to the "Blu" restaurant.  It seats maybe 100 people but feels very intimate, the servers are all perfect and the food wonderful.  We feel it's like a 5-star dining experience, and every night!  Maybe the ship shows some wear but all public areas were clean and our state room was kept immaculate.  All of the crew were more than willing to fulfill any requests or answer questions.  We enjoyed very much the "Solarium" which is the enclosed pool area with spas.  I went to the gym almost everyday and had no issues with it.  The ship provided wonderful onboard lecturers covering everything from the building, history and operation of the Canal; exploration of the far reaches of the world; the history of animation; what it's like to fly in a fighter jet with Chuck Yeagar; and even the story of the OK Corral gunfight!  The entertainers included some awesome singers and comedians.  We already booked another sailing with Celebrity in 2015 while on board (great additional credits offered) because we know we'll be wonderfully served.

Went outside ship with "Dora" the Explorer who showed us her beautiful city. The old town is definately worth seeing.

We didn't leave the port. Heard from others that taking bus excursion to Panama City is worthwhile; that the train the follows along the Canal was not!

Panama Canal Transit

Get your cameras ready. Beautiful once reach the lake and sail across the inland area. Amazing accomplishment in building the Canal. Now it's undergoing another set of locks to accommodate huge ships.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

Went outside the ship with "Ricky Ricardo" and it was a great overview of the area, history, and get ready for your boat guide to get out and start feeding the crocodiles for photo ops!

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

Beautiful, simple country that lacks sophistication. Enjoyed ship's excursion to the mountain lake and wonderful luncheon buffet.

Went outside ship to take tour of Cabo plus go up Sea of Cortez coastline to Cabo San Jose. Great beaches, views, and charming old town area with mission church in Cabo SJ. Cabo San Lucas is great for any water adventures!
