Review summary

Overall this was a pleasant cruise but I would not recommend it to families with children under 12. The excursions need to be reworked so there is more time at the ports. The Atlantis excursion needs to be more organized.

Good

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was good quality for an all you can eat experience.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
There were not many activities for kids. The kids club was small with not much to do. We had 5 kids in our group ranging from 3-7 and none of them wanted to go after one experience.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The whole family enjoyed the Topper show. Singers were good. We also enjoyed bingo. There should be bingo every night.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Service was inconsistent. Some were exceptional while others acted like they didn't want to be there and you were bothering them. Our room attendant was awesome but two of our other families did not find there attendant helpful or kind. Our main waiter at the Silhouette dining did NOT smile ONCE. Whereas his assistant Michelle was wonderful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was very clean. I appreciated how the staff was constantly cleaning since I'm a bit of a clean freak.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was very nice for a cruise ship. Good size and good amenities.

Ship tip

This cruise is good for adults but not the best for children.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

We didn't do anything here.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

We did the excursion to Trunk Bay. This excursion is way too short. By the time we go to the beach we had less than two hours. I don't know why it is not extended by an hour since we got back to the ship 3 hours before boarding.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

4 out of 5
This port is beautiful. We did the Tortola baths excursion. This was a very strenuous hike up. Again it was too short, we only had 40 minutes at each of the two beaches.

Nassau, Bahamas

We did the Atlantis half day excursion. This excursion was the most unorganized of them all. There were no signs when we got off the ship so half of the party missed the sign in point. No one told us we had to sign in for a arm band or where to go. We ended up having to walk all the way back to the ship and ask around for someone to tell us what to do. We were not alone, there were 4 other families we talked to that had the same problem. This cut into our already short excursion by 45 minutes.

Book excursions independently and not through the ship for a much better experience. Don’t believe the the ship’s scare tactics of “you’ll miss the ship” if you don’t book through us. Only book through the ship if you are traveling a long way from the ship and / or it is an all-day excursion.
