Review summary

Overall a fun cruise. Would sail on celebrity again. Irma and Maria caused chaos with our itinerary but celebrity did a good job of keeping us updated and the new ports of Nassau and st. Kitts were just fine. With the exception of pickup process port of Miami was very nice.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation went very smooth. Celebrity staff kept all lines moving quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was very good. Would have liked more variety, especially at breakfast. The buffet was good. Always able to find a seat which was great. Got tired of the specialty restaurant sales pitches every meal. Bartenders were good but there was confusion from bar to bar about what was included in the classic beverage package. Could have used more waiters in the pool area.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Onboard activities were fine. Bingo was outrageously expensive for prizes. A cruise is what you make it.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Bands in foyer were very good. Disco night was a lot of fun. Guest performers were also very entertaining. Ship’s production acrobats good. Singers were average and productions were hard to follow.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the staff were excellent. Dining waiters fabulous. Room was always clean. Excursion and customer service personnel were fast, efficient, and friendly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was easy to navigate and everything was kept very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin and balcony was very nice. Could have used more storage drawers and more hangers.

Ship tip

If there is something you want always ask. You don’t know what is available unless you do. Your bill is available on tv until the last day. If you want a paper copy you have to ask at customer service or call/email when you get home.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico Did not visit port

Fort-De-France, Martinique

Very interesting island. Visited st. Pierre and volcano museum. Unable to go to rum distillery because of mudslides, which were pretty interesting! Refunded half of excursion price which was appreciated.

Bridgetown, Barbados

5 out of 5
Fabulous island. Spent day visiting beaches on a Baja open air bus. So much fun and the most beautiful waters!

Castries, St. Lucia

3 out of 5
Ok. Would have been better if it wasn’t a holiday and most things closed. Very aggressive local trip sellers. Took an island tour but spent more time seeing rundown buildings and papayas than the pretty areas of island.

St. John's, Antigua

5 out of 5
Very fun island. Nice port area. Took a catamaran snorkeling and swimming trip. Well worth it. Boat operators were great and water beautiful.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Disembarkation, luggage pickup, and customs was top-notch. I’ve never experienced a better process. Unfortunately, once you walk out of the terminal doors, Miami’s pickup system was a nightmare. True chaos, long wait times for various busses, etc. felt sorry for the police who were trying to keep everything moving.

All I can guarantee is if you repeat this same cruise next year, Irma and Maria will not upset any plans.
