Amazing ship and amazing staff! by saacosta

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I would seek out future cruises on Edge specifically because I was so impressed with the ship. Celebrity did an EXCEPTIONAL job in trying to route us to the planned ports giving us the best possible weather conditions but changing the dates of which day we would be in which port and ultimately we had such great weather in each port, missing the rain and wind that we would have otherwise encountered. Most cruise lines would just cancel and call it a "day at sea". Celebrity did most of the work in figuring out our excursions that we had already paid for and redoing all of the reservations to make for a seamless transition. I also recommend this particular cruise as a great way to get a taste of Italy and Greece and check a few locations off of your bucket list and/or create a new list of where you might want to come back and spend more time. Excursions though are key to your experience in each port and what you will see or not see.

We had the most amazing experience sailing on the Celebrity Edge. As it was our first cruise cannot compare to others but I cannot fault the ship, it's facilities, the crew and excursions were all excellent. 10/10 - very happy 1st time cruisers!!

Great new ship!!! by emalcolm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This cruise was excellent! We loved the new ship and all of the new additions. We really liked that the main dining was split into 4 rooms.. much less noisy and crowded and felt like a huge variety. The food was excellent as well... we typically pay for a restaurant or two on our cruises and didn’t feel like we had to on this ship. Overall an awesome experience! We loved the new ship! Very innovative, fresh and different!

Overall, it’s was good. The ports were not good due to much thugs running around and stealing money. Recommend for people that want to chill

Amazing amazing ship, from the minute you board you are made to feel special, your every need and more is taken care of. Already starting to look at booking our next Edge cruise, I really don't think you could get any better, perhaps similar but I can't see what could be better really.

My suggestions and notes by roygozlan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge

A quick overview of my cruise can be summed up in a few suggestions a seven day cruise with Celebrity packs a lot of itinerary you only get one day at sea which leaves me with very little time to explore the ship except at night don’t get me wrong the ship is one of the most beautiful ships I have been on and this is my 17th cruise . But only one day at sea gives you very little time to enjoy the ship. My suggestion to Celebrity is give up one stop like Valencia Spain which was really a waste of time especially that it stops on a Sunday where there’s nothing open in that city. like I wrote before I was on the aqua class balcony room I personally feel that the aqua class is a waste of money specially when you don’t have enough time to use the spa on the ship ,because every day you are getting off. Except for one day at sea also my suggestion book ahead of time specialty restaurants as they are the best specialty restaurant I’ve had in many cruises. Pre-purchase your Wi-Fi package and you will save money the Internet on the ship was pretty good not super fast but fast ,the staff was amazing, The ship was clean and shows were great.

Awesome by JoeGoz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I love Europe and this was my first time to these countries. I personally would never do a Mediterranean cruise again as there just enough time spent at each port. But, it was a good primer to get our feet wet in these countries.

This ship has redefined cruising for us. by WarrenLF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We had previously been on Celebrity Millennium and were left a little flat. We have primarily cruised on Cunard and love the grand style of the ships. However, when we saw the original videos at the launch of Edge we thought we should try this out. We work in the architecture and design world and were excited by the focus on contemporary design. We were not disappointed. As a matter of fact, I may never want to get on another ship. There were a few misses, but the hits so far outweighed any minor misses. The shows (minus Incanto Quartet) were fresh and modern. And the silent disco DJ challenge was a "not to be missed " experience. I honestly could go on for quite a while about how much we liked The Edge. If you can afford to upgrade to Suite Class at some point (watch the prices regularly and sometimes deals pop up) you should do it. Suite Class makes the ship feel like your own yacht with access to Luminae and The Retreat. We loved every minute on board.

Beautiful but missed the mark on so many levels by Toby1957

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

While we enjoyed our cruise, any cruise is a good cruise and we went to some beautiful places, we were disappointed in the Edge. We missed the feeling of being on a ship. First, the Infinite Veranda is not a Veranda, it's a big window. You do not feel like you are outside, because you are not. The Promenade is missing. No walking around the deck. Separating off the entire front of the ship and making it off limits for most of the passengers was a terrible idea. The layout of the pool area doesn't flow at all. The Eden area is a waste of a beautiful view out the back of the ship. The sunset bar is small with very limited seating. The Magic Carpet is a gimmick looking for a reason to be. The Martini Bar is beautiful but small. The Atrium is tiny and noisy. The elevators are fast but enclosed, not glass like in the other ships. The entire ship felt closed in. If you aren't walking around the upper deck you can't really see the ocean. It is beautiful, it is innovative, it is creative but it has lost so many of the qualities of sailing on a ship. The Edge is not inexpensive to sail on. Everything is an add-on. The classic drink package is now very basic and most drinks are an additional charge. The specialty restaurants are pricey. We went to 4 and none were worth the cost. The shops on board are very high end. We saw no one shopping there during our cruise. The excursions were pricey but were good with the exception of one. For us, after putting a pencil to it, we will be cruising with an all-inclusive line from now on. It seemed like we were nickel & dimed a lot on this ship. But more than that, the focus seems to have been on designing a nice hotel and in the process, they've lost the qualities of a ship.

What a trip! by ettacruises

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

This is the perfect cruise for anyone wanting to experience cruising - as it's sister's company RCCL, the Oasis class - you feel NOTHING in this ship. Stay center, center and you don't hear any crashing of the waves and there is consideration within the suites for quiet as well. What an awesome experience.
