Celebrity Constellation cruise by dixonwoodgela

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The cruise was wonderful, the food exceptional and the service provided by your staff was better than outstanding.  We were especially overly pleased with the outstanding service provided by our waiter, Pariman and his assistant, Valanki, and Sommeliers Milovan and Marco.

Perfect vacation by igur

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Great itinerary. Two days stay in Sorrento and Dubrovnik allowed to plan the independent tours of Amalfi Coast, Capri and Croatia without concern of being late back to the ship. Everything was organized extremely well by the very friendly staff. Well prepared food for the all tastes, and excellent dining service. Very professional entertainment every night, and the ship's captain should be mentioned separately for his humor and jokes.

Adriatic Cruise aboard the Constellation by lex1517

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We had a lovely cruise and took many fantastic private excursions at the ports. Did not like the fact that because of some Italian laws, the liquor/tobacco store was closed throughout the trip and due to the 2 overnight ports, the casino was closed. This impaired many cruisers.

12 nights with a teenage grandson by gasser002

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The overall experience was delightful. The islands visited were unique for us and a joy to explore. I only had a problem with ordering my meat medium rare and getting medium instead. Also, the buffet was frequently not up to good temperature standards. I explained it to the managers, but they just did not get it. Oh, we will prepare it fresh and hot, not accepting the standard safe food practice that I was attempting to get across.

My Experience by lbadin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The check-in was a nightmare with 300 or more people waiting hours to check on to the ship.  Since we were not Aqua class or above it was not a pleasant way to start the cruise.  Our balcony room had mold in the shower, ratty towels, some towels with spots not removed in previous cleaning and holes in bed linens.  The food was a joke.  Leg of lamb and other lamb dishes that tasted like mutton.  Steaks that were 3X4 inches and about 1/4 inch thick, two bite appetizers, etc. I have never felt like a second class person until I went on this cruise.  Except for a few exceptions the entertainment was corny and not professional.  Room service was awful.  If you wanted a real egg, it was $7 to $9 otherwise you had powdered scrambled eggs.  I had to print that I wanted a plate for my food, a basket of rolls was two.  There just seemed to be a real general lack of attention to detail.  Although our cabin person and our waiter in the dining room were wonderful it did not make up for the shoddy food or patched carpet etc.  in the room.  I felt I did not get my moneys worth for what I paid.

It was a great itinerary for our third and probably last Celebrity cruise. by elrobber

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Although the itinerary was great and it was the perfect time of year to enjoy the weather and spring blooms, we did have some issues.  We ended up eating something that made us both very ill for 12 hours and quarantined for 24.  Luckily it was an at sea day.  We respect the effort to protect other passengers in case it was contagious.  We were pleased with the care that we received in the infirmary. We were not pleased with the lack of effort during the 24 hours.  We were told that we could order whatever we wanted from room service, which was not the case.  We had to follow up with the infirmary to be released as the promised phone call did not occur.

A time to remember........... by dgeno44

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The Celebrity Constellation is a beautiful ship.  It was in excellent shape and had an understated elegance.  While the staff, itinerary, accommodations and entertainment were all excellent, the food was mediocre at best.  Can anyone explain why a cruise to the Greek Isles and Italy lacked even a Greek salad each night on the dining room menu?  I expected at least one Italian or Greek entree each night, and though they appeared from time to time, they were few and far between.

The cruise director, Allehandro, from Argentina was the funniest guy I have ever seen.  He did a terrific job and just hearing him made me happy.

Beware the shore excursions!  They are not adequately described in the flyer. We are an older couple and two of the excursions all but finished us off.  We walked in the hot sun far longer than we expected and it was often uphill.  As a result, we cancelled future excursions we had booked and hired a taxi instead.  We enjoyed that much more.  We set our own pace, saw exactly what we wanted and it was usually less expensive.

I am still a fan of Princess and Royal Caribbean.  I would say that Celebrity rivaled, but did not exceed, their quality.

Great first cruise! by jaymbiv

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This happened to be my first cruise so I wasn't sure what to expect.  The service and employees were amazing.  The shows were okay, most of them being just entertaining.  Ancillary activities on the ship were fun and kept passengers busy during the days at sea.  Food aboard the ship was delicious.  They served almost every cuisine except for Spanish/Mexican food.  The destination stops were amazing.  You got just enough time to wet your appetite and I would like to definitely go back to spend extended amounts of time.  On-shore excursions were over priced through the cruise.  We were able to research more economical tour services for our destinations through local businesses.  The drink packages were slightly over priced as well.  We felt like we got our money's worth but we drank more than usual in order to achieve that value.  I would pass on the drink package if I had to do it again.  Finally, the stateroom attendants were incredible.  I would highly recommend this particular cruise and Celebrity Cruise Line but make sure you do your homework first.

The best yet by peterevans43342

Yes the Constellation is a great ship. Yes the weather was just about perfect and Yes the itinerary was fantastic but it was the Captain and the crew which made it extraordinary. Everything that could be managed, food, entertainment, service  exceeded expectations. We have taken abut 20 cruises but this was the first with Celebrity. Celebrity will be our first choice in the future.

Great Cruising by pxlmat4894

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Transatlantic

Celebrity has never disappointed us with the staff, entertainment, or the great food.  We have always enjoyed the port stops and most of the tours.  We particularly enjoyed seeing Gibraltar, Alicante and  the highlight was our tour at Vatican City.  Our guide was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable on the history of Rome.

Being elite members has also kept us returning to Celebrity.  We always look forward to the evening cocktails in Reflexions and the morning breakfasts in Constellation's Marco Polo restaurant.

A suggestion:  In regard to the drink coupons maybe have one coupon out of the three good for a daytime bar drink.  A cold beer tastes great after a shore excursion!

We look forward to our next Celebrity adventure in November.

Fun trip by joannechurchley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed the cruise.  The entertainment was great. Several of the members of the staff went out of their way to make my kids feel special.  Not a cruise for little kids but suitable for teens. Smaller ship so less crowding at elevators and buffet lines. Pool was a little small for an itinerary that had two days at sea but we never really had a problem finding a place next to the pool.Need to work on dining, felt rushed during meals and did not get the personal service we were expecting. Food was delicious.  I have been on 5 previous cruises and put this in the #2 spot for overall trips.

Great for a couple by davemcgough

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My wife and I booked this for our 10th anniversary. The ship is clean and has everything you need. Key West is a great port. Blu is phenomenal, well worth the price of AquaClass. Only issue we really had was mediocre food in the buffet, but you can find things to eat. Dinner was superb every night.

Really nice cruise by ladyofthelake

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My husband and I had a really nice time on this five day cruise.  Within the last year, we have been on a seven day and a twelve day cruise on two different cruise lines.  We found the energy on this cruise much more upbeat because of the younger adults and children.  Many were on spring break.  We were still able to find nice quiet areas on the ship with wonderful views when we wanted solitude, however.  It also seemed we were not harassed to purchase things on this cruise like we were on the other two.   The beds were comfortable, the food was really good and we loved the entertainment.   We would've loved to stay on the ship and go on to Europe.   Maybe next year!

Good but not great! by lrchamberland

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I've heard the Celebrity Fleets to be superior than the others, but don't be misinformed.  Although, we had a great time the service and food was mediocre.  When I explained this to a loyal Celebrity cruiser, she commented that it was probably because we were on a smaller ship and not cruising the mega ships.  I would think that the training and service would be the same, and maybe she is right.  But ice machines running out of ice and/or not working at all, food stations closed on Deck 10 (pool area) until 5:00pm not appreciated at all when I have kids in the pool and we had late dining (8:30 pm).  I was redirected to Deck 5 for a snack if I wanted to wait in a long line.  My waiter was slow and had attitude.  He scuffled with his assistant waiter with our kids in ear shot of his bickering.  No quick refills either.  Staff yelled at passengers in Oceanview café.  Spending time with my family is always a fun time and these things wouldn't deter us from going on Celebrity again but I am informed now and will not expect the service I have received from Crystal Serenity, which lived up to its 6 star rating.  I will put them in the same category as Carnival or Norwegian for service but not for its value.

Overall the cruise met expectations and in maybe one case exceeded them. by johnel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I booked this cruise last minute... to say the least what was excellent was the service I received from representatives.  They were fabulous.   The cruise was nice for the most part.   The ship was a little weathered, rooms could use a bit more cleanliness and updating, we had a balcony room and the views were spectacular.  We had the concierge package which gave us priority dining which simply meant we could go to dinner when we wanted in the main dining room, but it really amounted to getting a pager and waiting 40 min. to an hour, but when managed right it made an ok reason to plan a cocktail hour and taking in a lounge or two on the ship.  The staff was courteous in pockets, rough in some others and excellent in the aft deck outdoor lounge.  Just an opinion but often times they made it seem as if they were doing you a favor.   We are fairly thick skinned so this sort of thing did not get to me, but I saw that it really rubbed others the wrong way...We had one terrible dinning experience, but we were with a lot of kids with no to low expectations so thankfully that did not recognize the continued blunders.  The stops were fine, not a raving fan of either but certainly ok places to get off the boat and see 1 or 2 interesting things... Cozumel just has to tone done the tourist hounding... you really have to avoid the vendors and keep one hand (or both) on your wallet. Key west, some ok history there and you can show your kids how many people in this world can serve as a bad example... so for people watching acting foolishly, this place is perfect!

Overall good value for the money, great vistas from the ship, shows were mediocre at best, but tollerable... food excellent in some cases, just ok in others... probably a 7 on a scale of 1-10.

Boring entertainment; Tasteless food; Poor service from waiters; Excellent Service from stateroom attendant by khwilson26

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My family and I have cruised with Royal Carribean Cruises Lines many times with excellent service, food, and accomodations.  This cruise had no music around the pool area until day 3. When the band did play, they were pitiful.   I never saw the cruise director unless it was for a special show. The Fairy Tale type production was "R" rated and NOT for children. The food was plentiful but bland and tasteless.  The roast was so tough it could not be cut even with the knives they provided. It took alot of work to make that much food undesirable. The staff cleaning the cabin were very friendly and did a good job. The bar staff and other servers were not engaged in their work or the passengers satisfaction.  I know this sounds negative but it is honest.  Keep in mind I'm comparing Royal Carribean to their sister company.  I would not take this ship again.  The destinations were excellent.  The excursions offered were good.  There were very few children which is appealing to some adult only travelers even though it was spring break for schools.
