Boring entertainment; Tasteless food; Poor service from waiters; Excellent Service from stateroom attendant

Sail Date: March 30, 2015

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

My family and I have cruised with Royal Carribean Cruises Lines many times with excellent service, food, and accomodations.  This cruise had no music around the pool area until day 3. When the band did play, they were pitiful.   I never saw the cruise director unless it was for a special show. The Fairy Tale type production was "R" rated and NOT for children. The food was plentiful but bland and tasteless.  The roast was so tough it could not be cut even with the knives they provided. It took alot of work to make that much food undesirable. The staff cleaning the cabin were very friendly and did a good job. The bar staff and other servers were not engaged in their work or the passengers satisfaction.  I know this sounds negative but it is honest.  Keep in mind I'm comparing Royal Carribean to their sister company.  I would not take this ship again.  The destinations were excellent.  The excursions offered were good.  There were very few children which is appealing to some adult only travelers even though it was spring break for schools.

Ship Quality

Great cabin steward and cleaning staff Cabin- 9061 and 9057 Deck 9 balcony
Inappropriate for children ( R rated Fairy Tale musical prod); others boring
Children's Programs
Nothing really scheduled for teens. They list activities but never really do any of them
Onboard Activities
Destinations and Excursions
Excellent destinations and excursions offered
Cabin / Stateroom
Loved our cabin steward- great job! We had two cabins 9061 & 9057 balcony
Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida
Not well organized and not nearly as friendly as Port Canaveral
Cozumel, Mexico
You can rent a car for $50 and take entire family on tour of island then go for free to beaches, shopping, etc.
Key West, Florida
Loved the on-off trolley and guided tours. Not a great price but worth it to see it all

Self-carry baggage departure was relatively fast. The announcements from captain are not audible from rooms and you have to open door, even though there is a volume button in the room. No Coca Cola machines like on RCCL. You have to ask at bar for soft drinks. No announcements prior to shows
