Ship was refurbished but not enough. Aquaclass no longer supplies free bottled water daily. Pretty chintzy and starts cruise with disappointing attitude. Understaffing leaves a lot to be desired in service. Most staff members were excellent, but a few are remembered for their lack of service skills. Ice cream attendant was asked for tongs for cookies said "I am busy. Use you hands." Really? Food was bland and a few maintenance problems were inconvenient. Two of three excursions were disappointing. Entertainment was excellent and Celebrity band and performers were outstanding. We arrived at ports on schedule and disembarkation was easy and fast. Overall disappointing cruise as compared to other Celebrity cruises we have taken.

We'll do this trip again next time we need to get to Europe by tbow53

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Transatlantic

Staff and crew are great.  They are not perfect, but give them a chance and they will make it perfect.

Food is good, albeit it is pretty standard fare.

Madeira and Cartegna were good ports to visit.  Gibraltar gave us a chance to stretch our legs.

Cruise Director (Maaarten) keeps the activity calendar full.  Glen an Randolph, room attendants, were conscientious.

Relaxing cruise by tinytony52

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Transatlantic

We have enjoyed very much this transatlantic cruise very relaxing and fun, and the days at sea went really fast.

The food was good as well as the entertainment and the staff was great.

We loved the ship, that is smaller than some others we cruised before, the beautiful restaurant, the shops and the port of calls.

But most of all, we relaxed and enjoyed the interaction with other guests.

Relax by sallygadomski

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Transatlantic

if you need to relax or you just want too, this cruise is for you. The slower pace with plenty of time to make new friends or spend time doing exactly what you want to do is sure to relax.  Even if you are traveling with a partner who is high energy, they can take advantage of plenty of activity while you kick back. Something for every interest.

Constellation Not Particularly Stellar by 2disneydads

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We did the 5-night Western Caribbean cruise over Easter week.  I traveled with my 10-year old daughter, who enjoyed the Fun Factory very much.  I noticed some definite deficiencies when compared to a December 2015 cruise on sister ship the Summit.  Food quality seems to have fallen, especially in the Ocean view Cafe, where we food breakfast and lunch to be boring and lacking any creativity.  Dinner in Ocean Liners was very good, but the price was staggering.  The Tuscan Grille was a huge disappointment for the price.  The food quality was not that good.  The staff, while pleasant and helpful, did not give off the aura of happiness that we experienced on the Summit.  The Summit captain, Captain Kate, seemed to set a high standard for friendliness that we did not experience on the Constellation.  The ship seems somewhat tired and in need of freshening.  The decor is bland.  We generally are fans of Celebrity, so maybe it was just an old ship on its last Caribbean cruise before heading to Europe and the Middle East that made the experience less than we expected.

relaxing but too many rules by AmandaPerdomo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first time on a celebrity ship and I was expecting a lot for the price. The ship is older so the rooms were smaller than expected. I thought there were too many rules about dining. We did the dining select, but every time we wanted to have dinner, the reservations were all taken up. We had six in our party and although we knew everyone was going to show up they wouldn't seat all of us until everyone was there, which sometimes caused us to jam up at the entrance of the dining room. I thought the food wasn't always good, for a celebrity ship I expected more. I didn't know details of the aqua class or I would have upgraded. The ocean liners was great, but we had to pay 50 a person to eat there. The spas were great and I liked to large hot tub. Spa prices were high, but I liked the gym. Entertainment was really great, but there was variety needed as all the shows were the same with the aerial artists. I liked the fact that wheelchairs were provided for free and the vibe was relaxing. I usually like room service for breakfast, but the room was too small to accommodate it and it wasn't emphasized from our cabin steward.

Fantastic family get away! by tjbecker

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our kids (ages 16 and 11) wanted to take a cruise for Spring Break.  My husband and I haven't cruised in years and weren't sure about doing it.  Boy was I wrong!  We had an absolutely fantastic time and Celebrity far exceeded my expectations!  The staff was so friendly and accommodating and the ship was so clean and well maintained.  The food was fantastic and the activities directors Taylor and Maarten are so energetic and good at getting everyone involved to have a good time.  Highlights included the pool volleyball game between passengers and officers, ease of all the processes for embarkation and debarkation and the ensigns kids activities.  The hypnotist on the last night of our trip was absolutely amazing and I was blown away!  Overall a great experience and we will definitely cruise with celebrity again!!

4 night getaway by lbenna

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Would definitely go on this cruise again. Did not do any of the ships excursions and found plenty to do. They do need to police the adult area better to keep the kids out of the pool and hot tubs. Classic drink package is not much different than premium so you can save the extra cost if needed. Food was great in all areas. Pool service can be slow when at sea.

OK by tlbarth51

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

we were celebrating our 46 wedding anniversary during this cruise. The crew members were always very pleasant to talk to and always took care of us, the ship was in good shape and very clean. The food was OK and the entertainment was OK. We had a very relaxing 5 days I wish they had a better TV channel selection so we could have watched more of the NCAA basketball games. The best surprise we had was the fact that there was a Catholic priest on board and celebrated daily mass.

Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The service there are amazing. Everyone are nice.

we are very satisfied with the trip.

you will like the trip if choose this cruise. The amenity there are very good. But I think there should be some upgrade on video game room.

I would like to see more advanced equipment there. Maybe more table games? It could really improve the experience of couples or kids. We want to play together!

but still, I like this trip.

Maybe it was the weather by bschaff

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The good news is that the ship was very clean, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.  Maybe this is just a personal opinion, but the ship was too big for me, and spring break provided us with lots families with children, which made for crowded public areas.   Our room was small but again clean and well appointed.  Our balcony overlooked the orange emergency boats on deck 5.  Not the best view. Other passengers seemed to have better deals and inclusions than we had.  In retrospect, it would have been better to pay a little more for a better room and have more services "percs" included.  Wish we had known. We did hit a patch of bad weather which always puts a damper on warm weather vacations.  It was so windy that sitting or walking on deck was not pleasant.  Would I do it again at that time of year?  NO!

Last Minute Get-Away by wlj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We decided to take a cruise at the last minute and found this cruise through BJ's travel. It was on Celebrity Constellation the week before Easter. We did not realize that would be Spring Break with lots of partying college students. Even though they were overbooked, there was always a chair to sit on by the pool, a spot to be found to eat in the cafe, and we never felt that the staff was overburdened.

The food in the dining room was different than we normally eat, but was very tasty. The waiters were very attentive and offered to bring us something else if we did not like what we ordered.

There was a lot of variety in the cafe, but the food often was not hot enough.

The nightly entertainment was very enjoyable. It was very easy to get around the ship and short lines for the elevators.

Getting on and off the ship was extremely easy. I could not believe how quickly our final debarkation was.

The ship was very clean and all the ship's staff was attentive, helpful, and friendly.

We did not book any shore excursions with the ship.

Professionnaly and Weel Handled by wayneman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed the cruise very much from top to bottom.  Only one item we found out of sync.    Only other thing was the jellie or jams in fine dining restaurants were thos little plastic containers; they should be at leat the bootled ones.  Outside of that, everything was outstanding.

Nice getaway but could have used bigger pools. by scottandkk

Nice cruise but the outdoor pool & deck space was limited!  Also, the deck would get very hot & was terrible to walk on without footwear!  The main dining staff was excellent.

5 days on Celebrity Constellation by bhagen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our second time on basically the same cruise.  Every thing was excellent.  The stateroom Concierge level (balcony) was spacious (for a cruise), clean and comfortable.  The staff taking care of the room (Florence and Charles) were attentive.

The dining experiences were terrific.  The San Marco does an excellent job of feeding thousands in a white table cloth setting.  Every waiter and sommelier we encountered were attentive, polite and helpful.  The food choices were excellent and the preparation and presentation awesome.

The staff making dinner reservations (we had select dining) were very helpful, especially Carla who arranged for us to have tables for two at great locations in the restaurant--and the very best table for a birthday celebration.

The bars were great--we had the Premium Beverage package which allowed us to sample many drinks--and the waiters, bartenders and sommeliers made helpful recommendations of drinks in our package.

The entertainment--although off a bit from the previous year (just personal preference)--were all very professional and well staged.

Our only criticism is that the ship returned to a different terminal far from the embarkation terminal.  The transportation shuttle between was poorly organized and the vans were totally inappropriate for travelers with lots of luggage.

We highly recommend Celebrity--every employee on board is trained to provide the utmost in hospitality.

Very good except for a few things. by mountainees

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Check in was very quick. However, after checking in, had to stand in another line to get ship card picture. This could have been done at initial check in. Stayed in Aqua Class cabin. Cabin was well maintained and clean. Steward did an excellent job. Food and service in Blu was outstanding. Food and service in main dining very good as well. Lots of choices and good food in cafe buffet. Martini Bar and its bartenders were superb. Need more servers around pool deck. Since they sell so many beverage packages, they no longer push drinks and you usually have to go to bar. Smoking should not be allowed around pool. On sea days, smoke blows on everyone. Limited lounges force you to endure of leave. Entertainment was good but nothing special. Crew was friendly but not as much as on other Celebrity ships. Did Tequila testing in Cozemel and it was entertaining and fun. Highly recommend. Key West was a nice change of pace with lots of choices for fun.  Ship, although older was clean and very well maintained. Worst part of cruise was leaving from Pier 26 and coming back to Pier 4 clear across the port. Had to be bussed with luggage back to Pier 25 parking and surprise Pier 25 was empty. Overall, cruise was very good and would have been excellent except for smoking and disembarkation.
