Review summary

Staff and crew are great.  They are not perfect, but give them a chance and they will make it perfect.

Food is good, albeit it is pretty standard fare.

Madeira and Cartegna were good ports to visit.  Gibraltar gave us a chance to stretch our legs.

Cruise Director (Maaarten) keeps the activity calendar full.  Glen an Randolph, room attendants, were conscientious.

Cabin / Stateroom

The odd numbered staterooms are on the PORT side on this ship, which is different from any other ship I have been on. For this trip, get a stateroom on the starboard side so you get sun all day. For western bound cruises, get a room on the port side.

Ship tip

To get to the train station In Civitevechia, take the free shuttle to the port entrance. You can take a local bus to the train station. We walked and it took about 15 minutes. Train to Rome Termini takes an hour. You get better transportation and excursion deals at the port entrance, too.

Visit the stores about 2 or 3 blocks from the waterfront. Better prices and quality.

Be careful shopping. Él Cortez Inglese is a nice shopping center, but you can get better prices at the shops in town.
