Review summary

An ambitious sojourn around the Mediterranean, stopping at many interesting places, but only a taste of the region. You can try to see it all, or take it easy and experience less. Either way, it’s a beautiful cruise that will take you to many interesting ports. None disappointed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dined in the main dining room and buffet. Food and service always outstanding.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Enjoyed the therapeutic pool and hot tubs but we were out on excursions a lot, so really didn’t have time for ship activities.

Entertainment

Didn’t see any

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was helpful and pleasant

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean. Beautiful ship. Update will make it outstanding.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Nice size. There is an overhang that obscures the sun. Some might not like this but we didn’t want full sun so it was fine for us. It’s under the Ocean View Cafe, but the most we heard was some walking above us, and not during the night.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
Wonderful city. Toured on our own before the cruise.

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

5 out of 5
Did the excursion to Jerez and the Horse Show. Visited winery and learned about sherry. Had tasting, then on to the dancing horses. Both very enjoyable.

Gibraltar (U.K.)

5 out of 5
Small and interesting. Did a Viator excursion and went up the rock, out to Europa Point, St. Michael’s Caves. Good shopping and quaint town for wandering.

Sete (Carcassonne), France

4 out of 5
Went on excursion to Nimes, a nice old part of the city, and to Pont du Gard, which involved a long walk to the aqueduct and back. Interesting but not outstanding.

Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France

5 out of 5
Villefranche beautiful. Wish we had stayed there part of the day. Instead, we took excursion to Nice and Cannes (on your own) in which the guide was quite informative and helpful. Not enough time in either city though! Could have spent 2 days in this port!

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
We’ve seen the area before, so we took the Tuscan Farmhouse excursion. Great! Food and wine!

Ajaccio, Corsica

4 out of 5
Ajaccio is a beautiful city but there’s not much to do there except eat and shop. Took the little train around town and up to Napoleons Memorial.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy Did not visit port

Took a Viator arranged transport into Rome. Good bargain.

Disembarkation

How was the weather in Nice? We’re there people swimming in the sea?
