Review summary

Great cruise. Celebrity continue to delivery good travel experiences. Food and entertainment are great, but it needs to change , create new experience and continue to impress their guests.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We waited about 15 to 20 minutes to check in and the process was smooth in general. Champagne served upon getting on the cruise. Since rooms aren't ready until 1pm, the whole ship is crowded with people carrying their backpack and small carrys. Ocean cafe was also packed, but the rooms was already ready before 1pm, so it diverted people back to their rooms and ease the traffic around the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The foods served in the main dining room is great. Overall, the quality is there and the changed the menu everyday for guests to try different foods every day. We loved the Lobster Tail and Scallops. However, the food at Buffet is quite boring, they change the chef specialty everyday, but the rest are almost the same everyday. After 3-4 days on the ship, the food in the buffet is getting really boring. The pasta bar, pizza and a salad section is open until 12 or 1am, but 24 hours, so make sure you grab the last mid night snack before they close. We haven't try the speciality restaurant, so no comment.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Their have a free morning Stretch class at 7am, my wife did participated in it, but only a few people among 2000+ showed up. Too early I guess. The fitness center is clean and well maintained, the pools are little small but there aren't too many people in the water, so it doesnt feel too packed. I participated some games and won some prizes, it was fun but they have to create something new, I was at Celebrity Eclipse last year and the activities was exactly the same. I'm not sure if I want to keep sailing with Celebrity of their actives are constantly the same on their ships.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows are great, we been to all their shows at night. The performaners worked hard on their plays. We like most of their shows at night. The musicians are OK, but we couldn't stand Sea Beats, the singer could ruin the popular songs, the way she sang was so boring, we tried to avoid running into her performances and run away.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
We have a very bad/new/lazy stewards. We constantly missing stuff in our rooms. For example, there are days that we miss the Agenda of the day, missing toiletries, missing clean towels, forgot to take the dirty cups away, etc.. She never come greet us on our 9 nights cruise. After a week, we couldn't stand anymore and reported the guest relation. They send a supervisor to address the issue and apologize, then we get phone calls the days after to make sure nothing else is missing and we are satisfy. Other staffs were very friendly. Our waiter at the main Dinning room was very friendly and worked at best yo accompany my request.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is over 15 years old, renovated of course. I have no problem with the design, it is clean overall. I'm very satisfied in this category.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room is good size for an inside stateroom. They have many drawers that we can use to put away our stuff. However, the bed frame is so low and we couldn't put in luggage under the bed to save space. The room is clean, although it is very close to the 3rd floor lobby, we couldn't hear any noise from outside. Because is room is located so close to the grand foyer, it was very convenient to go anywhere. We love the location of our cabin.

Ship tip

Create new on board activities, change the menu at the Oceancafe.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain Did not visit port

We went straight from Airport to Port due to personal schedule.

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

4 out of 5
We did not join an excursion because we visited Seville not long ago. We never visited Cadiz so we decide to explore this town on our own. We visited the park and walked through the town, we had some tapas and bought some souvenirs. Nothing really a must see in this port, just walked our own and having a relaxing day.

Gibraltar (U.K.)

5 out of 5
We joined an private excursion for Rock of Gibraltar. We visit's St-Michael's Cave, Europia Point and Ape'den. It is a short tour of 2 hours, and we had time to visit the main town to buy some souvenirs. The walk to the town is about 20 minutes from the port. There are a lot of flies in this place, it kept flying around your face and so annoying.

Sete (Carcassonne), France

3 out of 5
Sete is a small town, nothing really to see if you are staying at Sete. We stayed in town, had French petit dejeuner beside the canal. Walked around the shops and took a few photos are the canal and walk back to our ship.

Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France

5 out of 5
The best thing to do in this port is to visit Nice, Eze and Monaco. We prebooked a semi private tour visit these 3 places within 8 hours. Nice is very relaxing, we walked just outside of the beach, the market and had a breakfast. Monoco is very busy, but view from the top was impressive. Food are more expensive in Monaco and we visited the Casino although it was too early to go inside (open at 2). Then we visited the perfume store and take photos from the top. Very interesting places to visit in this port.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

4 out of 5
We prebooked a semi private tour for the best of Florence and Pisa. Florence is very crowded and busy . The architecture is beautiful, lots of photo taken. Pisa is mainly only for the leaning tower, otherwise there aren't any attraction worth to visit with a short cruise stay.

Ajaccio, Corsica

3 out of 5
This is mainly a beach port, there aren't much to do in Ajaccio other than beach. We took a bus tour, but regret not to go swim at the beach.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy Did not visit port

We had to took an early flight back home.

Disembarkation
