We won't recommend this ship, actually already called two couples of close friends that were planning to take it and after we shared our experience they are changing plans to take another line for their next cruise. This ship need a lot of professional entretainment guidance. The cruise directos and the other lady are daily in a video that is depressing , they need urgently a producer for those presentations/
If you sail on Celebrity Apex make sure you are not at urgent for going to the restroom. The doors are touch-controlled and may take awhile to open & close. Make sure door is locked!
Don’t bother with the specialty restaurants. Waste of money. Also, don’t expect great advantages to The Retreat. Sounds great on a website but allowing ALL suture to access the areas is simply too much. Great concept. Bad execution.
Many negative changes since January 2023 regarding food and coffee quality, many inexperienced and not sufficiently trained staff especially in dining rooms.
For those willing to listen, pay attention to this. Just because you get a suite and have exclusive access to the Retreat area, don't get your expectations up. The pool area is very crowded. Simply put, its a small space for alot of people. In fact, many would go up early in the morning and through items on chairs and loungers. The lounge itself was good, but the pool area not so much.
The shows don't take reservations, so get there early. Most open up 30 minutes prior, so get there at least 15-20 minutes beforehand to guarantee a good seat.
For the Eden cast, the theme, costumes and music vary but the acrobatic performances are generally the same. The best of their shows was Caravan, performed in The Club two nights. For any of their shows, in Eden or The Club, arrive and claim your seat 30-45 minutes early as they are small venues and things can get a little chippy when late arrivers are looking for a place to sit.
I love Blu for breakfast, but the dinners this go around were just ok in my opinion. I might shy away from Aqua Class next booking and stick with veranda or concierge class. Also, the location of Blu is TERRIBLE as your "view" out the windows is of the life boats/tenders.
