30th Birthday Celebration by ambosse19

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I booked this trip as a surprise for my husband's 30th Birthday. The itinerary was an eye catcher, and the ship ... Well it is gorgeous. We didn't realize how AMAZING this trip would be until we were experiencing it.

Let me start by saying ... we hit the JACKPOT with Matt Mitcham (Cruise Director). This was our 8th cruise, and I don't remember 1 of our Cruise Directors or interacting with them throughout the ship. Matt was always around, assuring everyone was having the time of their life and giving us all a good laugh. Carnival is lucky to have him on their fleet, and we were lucky to experience one of his cruises. We have already started to search for the next cruise ... with Matt.

This was also our first cruise with a seamless check-in process. It took us a total of 10 minutes from Uber drop off to the waiting area. Kudos to Carnival. We were on-board and eating by 1130am ... and in our room by 1230pm.

We were in a Balcony room (7408) which was port-side (my favorite). It was similar to any Balcony room - I did think that there was increased closet space, and very much appreciated that.

The food ... Oh the food .... out of this world!! From the buffet, to the dining room (breakfast / brunch / dinner) to the multiple outside dining venues. Blue Iguana (pork tacos are a must), Guys Smoked BBQ , Guys Burger (AMAZING) ... and of courses the PIZZA!!

This was an adults trip only, we left the kids home for this one. And we were able to experience so much ... COMEDY is must. We saw 10 shows over the 8 days, and man did we have some laughs. We had a total of 4 comics over the 8 days, with a variety of shows and times. Each show the lounge was a full house - definitely a must see.

Carnival Quest ... a MUST (if your 18+) .... an adults only scavenger hunt. I don't want to spoil the fun, so I will say this : GO, laugh, meet new people and have FUN. We weren't sure what it was ... and we are so glad that we went and experienced this.

SHOWS - the shows were great also ....  We did the Welcome Aboard , American Rocks, Flicks and Lip Sync Battle. All were great!! We also saw Logan in IMAX - what a great addition to the ship! Perfect for an overcast Sea Day.

We were lucky enough to sail during Mardi Gras & Dr. Seuss Birthday ... and WOW Carnival / Matt, did it BIG. Absolutely incredible displays and celebrations - for ALL ages.

I would recommend this ship and itinerary to everyone. Disregard the negative comments - you can't please everyone. I was hesitant going into this cruise, as I had read many reviews with petty negative comments. We loved that the ship was spaced out in some areas, as this really cut down on crowds. We didn't wait in one line all week - to embark, disembark, eat or do an activity. This was definitely our top cruise thus far, and would recommend it to anyone.

Happy Cruising ...

Great trip to the western Caribbean by Cruiser73069417

Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a fantastic time aboard Carnival's newest ship, Vista. Although it was big, it didn'the feel crowded. Food was good andabade@sensata.com there were plenty of activities to keep everyone busy. We had one for our best excursions ever in Cozemel. The secret river caving tour was great!

Fantastic Vista Cruise by Jeffjazz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

A beautiful ship.  Lots of room where you NEVER feel crowded.  Such a pleasure to be able to walk the length of a Carnival ship and not have to go through the heavy smoking of the Casino.  Walking through deck 5 is a joy.  Nice shops, excellent eateries, the marvelous photo shop, and lounges in the rear make it so easy and fun.

Food was very good.

Staff overall were excellent.

Matt is one of the best Cruise Directors we have enjoyed in our many cruises.  He truly has a fun time making sure all of the passengers are having a great time.

The entertainment was outstanding.  Like the way they change the Liquid Lounge for the shows.

And, waterpark is one of the best.

Vista is Fantastic.

nice ship not as nice as the older ones by cruiserboston

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It is a nice ship.  how can you complain about a 2016 ship.  However I am a return guest of carnival and have been on two other ships they were new at the time when we sailed.  And in both of those ships the grand pramanade and dining halls, and pretty much all the show places were all grand and there was a shock and awe when you saw them.  You couldnt imagine how big and grand and awesome in size everything was.  The carnival vista is a bigger ship but they shrunk everything including the main entrance which was the big shock and awe now is a entrance that leads to a large bar.  It was a nice ship but all they did was shrunk everything including ceiling heights in places and cramped as many cabins as they could into the ship.  Cant blame them for wanting to make hundreds of thousands more per sailing to pay for these billion dollar ships but they should keep in mind that the reason for repeat business is what got them there in the first place which was the awesome ships prior where the shock and awe was impressive.  I am a repeat customer and brought on first timers on the cruise they like it so much we are booking the next cruise days after getting off this cruise but we will try royal caribean this time to see what they have to offer on their new ships, we have sailed with them in the past as well.  If a carnival employee is reading this feel free to contact me.

Carnival Vista by CruiseforRich

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This cruise was amazing for me and so so for my husband. There needs to be more men related activities such as bowling, pool, indoor sports , etc.  We both had a wonderful time with cruise director Matt, he was awesome. There are enough activities on the ship for women just need more for men. Food was great and dinner was even better.  Pool needs to be much bigger to accommodate the large amount of children.

Carnival Vista mediocre cruise by Lovecarribean

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The food and staff were fine. The layout of the Marketplace was terrible. The Liquid Lounge was also terrible.  We were with a group of 14 and they all agreed. The elevators were slow and deck service clean up was slow.

8 Day Carnival Vist Cruise by ValveMan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We just got back from our 8 Day Cruise on the Carnival Vista and the ship is much bigger than any other Carnival Ship. The only complaint that I had is they should have TV's at the Casino Bar since that is where most of the action is at night. I understand there is a Sports Bar right around the corner but it seems like most people hang out in the Casino area at night and TV's would be a welcome addition. The rest of the ship is great and I love the way they have all the pictures on your phone (download the Hub app before you cruise) or on your in room TV. Steakhouse was great, Italian, Asian, Sushi, Havana Bar etc...All great. The new boarding process is streamlined along with getting on and off the ship with their handheld scanners. I heard a lot of people complaining about the ship ?? Can't please everyone !!

Great cruise by debgarrisi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My husband and I take at least one Carnival cruise a year.  The Vista is a beautiful ship.  We had a great time!  The Cruise Director, Matt was the best we have ever had. He was energetic, friendly, engaging, and a lot of fun!!  I think the only thing I noticed that I did not care for compared to previous ships is there did not seem to be as many wait staff taking beverage orders around the pool area.  My husband and I are not big drinkers but I do enjoy having an "umbrella" drink by the pool. In the past some one was always walking around with a tray holding the drink of the day.  I saw this on the first day of the cruise  and that was the last time.

We have already booked our next cruise we enjoyed ourselves that much.

Best Cruise Director and Wait Staff ever!!!! by beachlover3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

LoveThe only reason I gave 4 out 5 in the rating was the lack of drink service during sea days was horriable.  Even going to the bars myself was a struggle getting waited on.

Matt the cruise director was very engaging and had the crowd interaction.  Best one I have ever had

Dijana djokic, Andrea Torbica, Nelson and Surya galir's ob'roy were the most lovely wait staff I have ever meant.  Thank you!!!!

Almost perfect cruise by michelleandjosh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Pros:

Very friendly staff, they seemed willing to help with a smile any time of the day or night.

There was a large amount of inclusive dining options, especially for lunch, even on an 8 day cruise, we were not able to sample them all.  We only did the buffet one time for lunch and never for dinner.  There were quite a bit of options that were not inclusive for dinner, but we found the menu option for the main dining room to be amazing, with some upscale options as well, such as escargot and frog legs.

Cons:

Very crowded, there was never enough space, if you were not waiting in line at least a half hour prior to the comedy shows, there would not be any seats left.

The dining room was packed on the first night, it was about a 45 minute wait for a table, the wait time did lessen for later nights to 10 minutes.

Awesome Cruise by VancouverJoe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Thus was our 3rd Carnival Cruise, was on the Breeze twice for the Eastern Caribbean, I was reading all the reviews on the Vista prior to our departure in mid Feb. The reviews where all over the scale, from poor to excellent.

From my my own personal experience and being a past Carnival Cruiser, this new ship is fantastic. Travelled with my 8 year old granddaughter who loved the various activities, such as water park, water slides, rope course, sky ride and the shows.

Food was good, had early dinning and this gave us time for the various shows or the "dive in movies" Our head waiter was Piotr and he provided great service along with his team. Michael and his team kept rooms nice and clean, even made a few special request with the towel animals.

The Pixcel Gallery has done digital and this makes finding you own photos much easier. Having access to the photos in you own stateroom tv is a nice touch, allowing you to review them at your own leasure.

We had all our embarkation details completed online de boarding the ship was very smooth and quick, much quicker than previous cruises. Leaving the ship at the end of the cruise was also quick and efficient.

Would highly recommend the Carnival Vista to anyone looking for a great cruising experience

Best ship ever! So much to do!! by ShelleyL5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Absolutely LOVED this ship! The service was excellent, our dining room staff of Arfirst, I Gusti and Puta was incredible! So professional, never had to ask twice for anything! Our room steward Xavier was so hardworking, and was like a ghost. We never saw him go in the room, but it was always spotless! So friendly, and gracious! Loved all the food choices on this ship! All were excellent too. Rode the Skyride, never been so scared, but it was so much fun! Our bar waitress Natasa (we had table 441) was excellent. Our room # was 7461, so happy we spent the extra money for a Havana room! Worth every penny. Only things I didn't like...Did not like the Atrium...there was no breathless feeling when you see it for the first time, and the Liquid Lounge. I am quite short, and I had a terrible time finding a seat where I could see. Don't like the setup in there at all. Thanks to Paulo in the Kors store who helped me find a gift for my friend..such a sweet person! All the wonderful workers on the Lido deck..all so friendly and helpful, and they work sooo hard! Just had a awesome time! Want to do Horizon next!

Family cruise vacation 2017 by harperwr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My favorite part of the cruise was the games the hosts.

Hula hoop and Lip Sync battle was awesome.  Some improvement could be in food service.  The length of time it takes to get your food at Horizons when in a large party.  Plates were being received ome by ome not really anle to eat together.

Altho servers were really nice and accomodating.  Also i was upset I didnt get to try the skyride because of timing it closed or weather :(

Good but customer service could be better by Milatravel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My favorite part was the spa area, the only downside is that it costs to use it. The was a warm chair in there that was the best thing on the ship. I like that there were more food choices on this ship and that they had the same shows that are a fan favorite(game show and love show). I did not get a chance to ride the skyride because it closed due to wind but it looks like it is fun. The only negative thing I have to say is the customer service was not great. There were a few people that were great but other than that, the workers were not very friendly or helpful.

Vista experience by CarlottaA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Nice ship with great room stewards. Dining room service a little slow at times but very good food. This is a large ship so some lines were inevitable. All I all a good experience.
