Review summary

We just got back from our 8 Day Cruise on the Carnival Vista and the ship is much bigger than any other Carnival Ship. The only complaint that I had is they should have TV's at the Casino Bar since that is where most of the action is at night. I understand there is a Sports Bar right around the corner but it seems like most people hang out in the Casino area at night and TV's would be a welcome addition. The rest of the ship is great and I love the way they have all the pictures on your phone (download the Hub app before you cruise) or on your in room TV. Steakhouse was great, Italian, Asian, Sushi, Havana Bar etc...All great. The new boarding process is streamlined along with getting on and off the ship with their handheld scanners. I heard a lot of people complaining about the ship ?? Can't please everyone !!

The ship is having issues staffing the ship but I did not have any real issues. The Casino bar needed more bartenders at night.

Margaritatville is very nice but very expensive !! I would take a left off the ship and spend the day at Jack's Shack about a 3 block walk down the beach and play with Topher the dog.

La Romana, Dominican Republic

Go to Saona Island but it is a 40 minute boat ride

Bonaire, Netherlands Special Municipality

This island has a few beaches and all are Rocky. We were going to Klein Island but they don't have Beer nor Bathrooms. We went to Spice Beach Club and got chairs and an Umbrella !! Great Day and did not depart until 9:00 PM that night which was very relaxing !!

Oranjestad, Aruba

Too many things to do !! You can stay near the ship and shop and do all the things by the boat, Hit De Palm Island (Pass on it ), We hit the Donkey Sanctuary (Free except it was a 25.00 cab ride) which has 150 Donkey's that we were able to feed Apples that we took off the ship. We purchased food there for $3.00 and made a donation. Our driver waited then drove us to Palm Beach which was amazing !! We got chairs and an umbrella near the Hyatt Hotel. We also had lunch from Scott's Bratz which is a Chicago / Wisconsin Tiki hut bar with great food !!

Just have your boarding pass and id and away you go. Boarding takes a short time considering how many people they arr dealing with. By 1 pm you can go to your room and pick up your s/s cards, and get into your rooms.

How would you get on the ship and into your cabin without the Sail&Sign card?  Can anyone explain?  We have only been on the other recent ships and they use scanners but you get the card at check in.

ya, good question about checkin/ embarkation. Our assigned checkin is between 11 and 1130. Once we complete checkin, how long of a wait until we get to board the ship, and how long unti we get our S&S card at our room? We don't have FTTF or any suite priority.
