Review summary

This was my second Carnival Cruise. The first one was with my family and the second one was with my twin sister only. Either Cruise disappointed. From beginning to end, it has always been a fun time. Hooked for life!!!

Embarkation

I purchased fast to the fun and it made my experience better for sure.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The specialty steak house was better than I anticipated. Every buffet I went through I was satisfied except for the BBQ buffet the sides were not yummy at all.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Hot tubs and serenity decks is where I visited mostly and they never seemed to disappoint and of course the lido deck activities were always entertaining.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I went to the 80 Rock, 88 and the Rock shows and they were awesome, the entertainers always gave it all they had and it made it fun. Connor, Lee and the characters of Clue, Ms Scarlet, Mr. Green and Ms Peacock were awesome. They made everything fun!!!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
I did not use these services; however my sister has in the past on a past Carnival Cruise on the Dream and she was highly satisfied and as a family member on the same cruise I witnessed the kids having a great time in the clubs and the family saw the kids during family time and we were able to have lots of adult time because of their clubs.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our Dinner team, I Gusti Made, Patcha and Harmatiy were the best. Every night they made us feel special, we laughed with them, we danced with them and their service was impeccable. They made our dinner time memorable and fun and the food in this dinning room (The Black Pearl) was very good. The gal that worked in the specialty Coffee Shop in the a.m. and throughout the day was very pleasant, gave great service and interacted with us is a fun and playful way that we loved. Unfortunately, we did not get her name :( Now, Sofiya in Guest Services was very helpful and pleasant and also made us feel welcomed as if we were her own family.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was very clean on the ship. If I saw a mess it was being tended to by staff.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was always comfortable and clean. Our steward Frederick satisfied every request.

Ship tip

Well since the ship is sailing away that will be left for future cruisers to answer. However, cruising to the Caribbean, it would have been helpful to know that not all places in Cabo takes cash and you would need a credit card for some purchases. Helpful hints like this in each port would be helpful if they are going to shop in port areas.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

I did go on the Queen Mary and toured the museum and ate breakfast there and it was breathtaking. The Carnival port was organized and clean and very informative.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Loved Cabo, it was beautiful and we ate at a Mexican Restaurant literally on the beach and it was so good but the peddlers were relentless so much so I struggled to be polite because the same ones that I told no to would continue to solicit me. I could not lay on the beach or by the beach without getting hassled or explore Cabo without feeling hassled. Perhaps have it controlled a bit.

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
This was probably my favorite port and excursion. I went to an all inclusive excursion and It was beautiful and clean. The buffet was good and authentic. The resort was clean and the waiters were attentive and although they had peddlers, they were more controlled and we were able to enjoy the beach and relaxation.

Disembarkation

No problems. Went smoothly. Again, we had FTTF. WORTH IT!!

Cabo has been out of control with vendors for years and knowing ever does anything to stop it . It is a shame . More and more tourists will stop going there , I just tell them. Go take a siesta !

I’ve been on the seven day Mexican cruise twice. Loved it both times. The vendors didn’t bother me in Cabo As I didn’t spend much time on the beach. It was in Mazatlan that we were hounded all day. Mazatlan Both times we were there we spent all day on the beach renting an umbrella and chairs and table. We had lunch on the beach from the local hotel. Delicious nachos. But the vendors were relentless. Not much chance to rest and relax. But I found if I pretended to be asleep I had better success with being left alone. Still I would go back to Mazatlan for a day on the beach.
