Review summary

We very much enjoyed our time on this cruise! I would have loved if we didn't have to spend more than one consecutive day solely on the ship. The two days at sea on our way home felt a little long. If we could make a port stop at least once a day or every other day i would have felt less antsy. However, every day we seriously did look forward to dinner with our waiter, Harry, from the Gold Pearl. Harry always wanted to hear about our time on the boat and on land. He was genuinely interested in how we felt about our stay. Harry also made dinner time fun and danced with us during "showtime". So much fun, we looked forward to it each night, so we never missed dinner.

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We had dinner every night in the Gold Pearl and the food was amazing every night. There was something new and different to try each night at dinner. We also made it a point to make it to dinner everynight despite other plans that may be happening on the boat because we enjoyed our waiter, Harry, so much! We loved "showtime" and looked forward to the fun every day.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
It was great that the boat had a track to run on and a gym for people to use. Definitely needed the activity because we were so stagnant on the boat when we weren't able to get off at a port. Movies were fun! I liked that the same movie was offered at different times because a lot of the ones we wanted to see fell at the same time as our assigned dinner hour. Having multiple show times to choose from allowed us to go to dinner at the pearl each night and see Harry, our waiter, who we looked forward to seeing each night.

Service and Staff

As said before, our waiter Harry was awesome! Such a friendly and fun guy to spend your dinner hour with. Harry was knowledgeable about the menu, quick at serving us our delicious dinners, and he was personable. He always knew our names and was always interested in how our excursions went on land in mexico. We got to know Harry on a personal level this trip and it really gave us something to look forward to each night! Harry also encouraged us to dance around the table during "showtime" which I personally loved! Harry made dinner time fun! We miss him!

Ship Quality

I was very surprised how clean everything was!! Our room steward, Nyoman, was great! I could always tell when he had been there because our room was spotless, but I never knew when he had come and gone. So quick and quiet.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo was very desert-y. It was fun to walk around the port and sight see in the same vicinity as the cruise ship. Always having the boat in my sights was comforting.

Mazatlan, Mexico

Mazatlan allowed for a little more territory to explore because it was quite a large city. A little more run down than cabo or puerto vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

This was my favorite. It was more tropical and green. The area was more developed. Lots of places to eat. Lots of food vendors on street corners selling authentic mexican food. And we did rhythms of the night as our excursion and it was quite amazing. Dinner was great, right on the beach!! Beautiful view. Hammocks. and a show!! We also just made it back to the cruise ship in time to have second dinner with our favorite waiter, Harry!!
