Scenery was Spectacular by SuellynM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The ship was beautiful. There were plenty of quiet spots to view the beautiful inside passage. I noticed a few areas that needed some sprucing up....chipped paint, etc. I thought it would have been nice to have other musical options than rock 'n roll and 70's and 80's hits. There was quite a few seniors on this trip. Our room was nice and clean. The ship's eating areas were crowded and we often walked around at breakfast and lunch looking for an available table.

Name says it all by WendyN2

Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Hawaii

Since this was our first Carnival cruise, we decided to go with a good attitude and have fun. Boarding in Honolulu was easy enough, but upon boarding, we were slightly amused and disarmed by the garish Las Vegas lights and style. The rooms were pretty standard as to the other ships we have been on, and the stewards were friendly enough and made sure to keep everything in good shape without bothering us. The wait staff in the dining room and bar waiters on the fantail were some of the best that we have seen. I can not say the same about the others. In the lido, I would swear that no one ever told the waiters to clean the tables, or refill your drinks like on other cruise lines. Overall, we had a good time, but will not travel with Carnival again. I guess I am too spoiled by the understated elegance and service from the "other" guys

carnival reached an all time low....... by Jb21

Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Hawaii

most of the equiptment in the gym was broke and no one really cared because they were going to get new equiptment( doesnt do me much good, the12 days i was on board. talked with the head of the dept and she didnt much care that i was upset.... the trip to ensenada, to get the ship was a total disaster and NO ONE knew what they were doing!!!!!!!!! we didnt get to the port till 9:30 pm and was tired and hungry. BUT they did give us a bottle of water when we boarded(after sitting at tthe pier for 3 1/2 hrs(none of the vending machines worked so no food) they know everyone was mad but just said "sorry!!"( and that was day 1 of our cruise!! NO one of importance cared. in our last port, oahu, we spent the night. we never got any information on what was available on the pier, where to go or shop.... (only if you booked a tour through carnival..) it was like we werent there anymore. if ii had never sailed on canival before( i am platnium) i would never go on carnival again. it was so bad they never gave us comment cards. guess they didnt want to know what we thought!! :)

A So So cruise by RalphL1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Hawaii

The ship is very nice and we loved the balcony in our state room. The food was good but nothing out of the norm. We booked all of are excusions thru carnival and was disaponited. Carnival canacled one excusion and one other was a helacopter ride that was cancled due to the weather. This made for a two day due nothing period.

Fair cruise but nothing great by HankT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

The Spirit is becoming an "old ship", not in age but in culture. Same buffets, same overpriced drinks, same bingo, same night shows (right out of the 40's), same dancing waiters ++++

Best cruise ever by ArizonaJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Mexico

We recently sailed on the Carnival Spirit. We can say without doubt, this was the best cruise we have had, out of 9 prior cruises. What made it so wonderful was the team on this ship. Everyone was so friendly and attentive to our every need. The food was fantastic, but we'll always remember the people.

A Great Cruise by RobF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Mexico

We had an aft wrap around balcony suite on th 8th floor. The room was large and comfortable. We had a living room, dressing room, bathroom with his and her sinks and a Jet tub/shower. We had a very large balcony that we enjoyed sunsets on every evening. We went to Cabo San Lucas and had views of lands end and lovers beach all day both days we were there. We would get breakfast in the lido deck each morning and bring it to our balcony to have a wonderful start to our day. The room service was fast and friendly with a good selection for any taste 24 hours. The main dining room was great with a good choice of great foods. The service was five stars. Our server was Jorge. He went above and beyond for us every night. We ate at the supper club (steak house) One night and it was a fantastic menu with five star staff and an experience you dont want to miss. The casino was tight at times and loose at others like any casino its about luck more than skill. Good choice of slots and lots of tables. The entertainment is top notch and available at many hours. The shops have great deals that get better as the cruise goes on. We went sailing and snorkling and it was one big party. We shopped on the second day and ate and drank. Had a fantastic time. Was on and off boat smoothly. Would recomend to anyone wanting to have a fun active time.

a nice cruise by SokhjindarS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Mexico

The Carnival Spirit was not laid out as well as the Triumph or the Victory. The weather was a little overcast between San Diego and Cabo and the water was rough as well. Cabo was beautiful, but we felt as though we had lost a port with the exclusion of Mazatlan, even though we had an extra day in Cabo. La Paz was a little disappointing, we should have gone to the beach instead of the town. The food was terrific, especially the sushi bar and the pizzeria. The shows and the activities on the ship need to be updated, such as the legends show.

It sucked, I won't do it again by PeterV83484180

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Mexico

For me this was a cruise that was a money grab. Everything was about getting your money. Numerous times a day the speakers would ring with the cruise director telling you what was happening and most of the time it would cost you money to do the acitivities. Then we had a chance to spend a night in Cabo, but the ship didn't let that happen. Let me explain. We were to spend 2 days in Cabo because of the violence in Mazatlan. We went to Cabo but we were told to be back on the boat by 6:00 because the boat had to sail out. Not sure why because we were back there the next morning. Why couldn't people spend a night or even an evening in Cabo? In Cabo we could get a bucket of 7 beer and chips and salsa for $10 dollars, but on board they were 4 for $21. They chose to spend a whole night of burning deisel out in the ocean just to make sure they had their captives to spend the money on board. it's all about the money grab. Every day we were bombarded with people trying to get us to spend money on one thing or another. I will never cruise with Carnival again. I hated it.

9 Day Mexican Rivera Cruise - Great Time by JeffH5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Mexico

Great cruise, loved the ports of PV and Cabo. Loved the excursion in LaPaz - cooking class. Wished the median age was a bit younger on this 9 day cruise, seemed all nightly activities after 11p were not well attended as everyone went to bed early.
