Review summary

Overall, our group of 9 had a nice vacation aboard the Spirit. Ultimately, this trip wasn't as much about the ship as it was about the destination. Alaska is stunning and pictures nor words do not do it justice. Perhaps Carnival is slipping or the effects of COVID are still causing issues, because we've had better experiences on every other Carnival ship. But this trip was nonetheless enjoyable.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was fast, efficient, problem-free!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was ok but overall quality has declined when compared to previous Carnival cruises.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Comedians were great. Shows in the main theatre were slightly better than we've previously experienced with Carnival. Other entertainment was fine, nothing to complain about but also nothing outstanding.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Again, there were no glaring problems or deficiencies but we all felt that service has slipped from Carnival's previously high standards.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
With the understanding it's an older, smaller ship, we didn't have high expectations. But the Spirit provided a nice vacation. It was clean, well-maintained and has a nice layout.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our cabin was fine. Acceptable size, comfortable, clean.

Ship tip

If you're looking for a quiet, unique indoor space, find the Jungle on deck 3.

Appreciate your feedback. The Jungle has been a wonderful place for us to get away from the crowds. We always felt bad when we interrupted a person reading (or whatever) when we just walked through. Glad you enjoyed your cruise!
