This was my mother's first cruise in her 88 year old life and she had a ball! With a rented wheel chair she was able to go from one end of the ship to the other. We especially liked the 10th floor "boardwalk" area overlooking the vast ocean. It was breathtaking. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.  The crew from cruise director, the entertainers, room steward and waiters were honest, open, very efficient and caring, not to  mention talented and funny.

One difference on this Carnival Pride from a different cruise line was no knowledge at the service desk of any Sabbath service organized or a way to do so. (Despite that I was moved to say some prayers on our balcony, amazed by God's heaven, earth and ocean!)

The shore excursions were wonderful. I found the history of the Grand Cayman island, 1511, as well as its present use, every square mile are 600 banks very interesting and the Seven Mile Beach's white sand and clear water true to its description! Cozumel, Mexico opened our eyes to Maya Indian "ball game" which was performed live for us - one where the winner would be sacrificed to the gods only to be reincarnated should they pass the 9 tests in the underworld. The costumes, war songs, drum beats, and fast ball moves were amazing as their athletic prowess was worked to the max! This was followed by a Mexican buffet with traditional Mexican dancing with long, colorful, swirling  skirts by the women and sombreros worn by tap dancing men. Our guide, Pedro Guy, was kind to push my mother on the sandy path, showing us Maya statues, and pointing out little pineapples growing from the ground. From morning to night my mother and I were busy with cruise talks, various trivia contests, towel animal lessons, dancing, singing, eating, meeting new people, shows, musical performance, etc.

Cruise fun by Petersenrd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our 5 day cruise was fun and relaxing. The staff was kind, informative, and did a great job. We spent a night under the stars watching a movie with other cruisers poolside that was fun. The best hamburger we have ever had was at Guy's burgers and the buffet had so much to choose from we found ourselves eating way to much. The weather was good every day and we spent a lot of time relaxing looking out over the amazing deep blue ocean. The submarine trip in Cozumel, Mexico was more than we expected, the reef was beautiful with lobsters seen, at 100 feet we saw the wall drop off to unknown depth and a surprise came into view that I don't want to reveal so it will be a surprise for you. We would recommend this cruise.

THE BEST BIRTHDAY WITH ALL MY FAMILY (80TH) by towerdraft

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My birthday dinner at DAVIDS STEAK HOUSE. Everyone raved about that dinner for the rest of the week. My kids & grandkids could not believe that at my age I rode that GREEN MONSTER water slide. It was a wonderful 7 days together with my family.

Very good overall cruise. by sjhrunner

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My wife & I very much enjoyed the cruise and locations.  This was our 3rd cruise on Carnival Pride so the ship feels like home to us.  The only slightly negative observation we saw was that this cruise was overwhelmingly filled with older, retired people.  So, there was a constant dealing with people using scooters, walkers & wheelchairs.  Not a problem for us, but should be noted for younger people wanting a younger crowd on a cruise.

Food Service by worc105

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Western

.Food was just ok. Dinner in the main dinning room took too long to complete a meal 2 1/2 hours. Limited breakfast stations after 9:30 AM. However the staff was very attentive and took care of us.

A very enjoyable cruise! by dad70

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall, we had a very enjoyable time.  We were very pleased with the destinations and with the excursions we selected.  We have been on the Carnival Pride a number of time, so we were quite familiar with the ship's layout, and we were pleased to find that Carnival had done a good job in keeping the ship looking new and in good condition.

On the down side, we weren't "wowed" by the food or the entertainment.  While both were pretty good, we didn't feel that the quality was good as what we experienced in past cruises.

family cruise by tcoomesbellsouthnet

The different ports that I have not been  to before was great. I was disappointed that I I didn't get my dinner time request. I liked the comedy shows and the entertainment nightly. Two nites we really didn't have any entertainment. The food was mediocre.  Nothing to say ah about.  the lido deck food was crap.  the staff was great. The beverage package sucks.  I've never had to pay for both people in the room for a package.

Bumpy ride to Mexico by joychaput

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The spa treatment was so relaxing.  Eileen was wonderful.   Francisco, our cabin steward, was very friendly and accommodating.  Patricia and Gail in the Fun Shop were so nice.  The manager of the Fun Shop agreed to sell me a tanzanite bracelet for a discounted price and then the management went back on their word, because they sold it to another party for more money right in front of me.  That was a slap in the face.  The salesgirls however were very nice to me and expressed their disappointment in that situation.  The management of Carnival obviously cares only about their own profit, not their guests.  Very poor customer service on the part of the managers.  Because of that I will not travel with Carnival again, or recommend them.  I will bet that you will not display this review because the Fun Shop manager treated me badly.  I do not blame the salesgirls.  They were very sweet and professional.

Good for the Price by bjameson8145

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We were impressed with the embarkation process - very efficient!

First two days at sea were difficult because the seas were so rough - not the ship's fault, but the entertainment was cancelled and all the pools and saunas were closed...didn't leave much to do.

Staff was friendly on and off the ship. Ship was clean and well-maintained.

Dinner - one night we had to wait 30 minutes after being seated to get drinks, bread and to order. I would've preferred to go to the bar during that time to get something for our parched throats.

One night, the pizza bar was closed completely.

All-in-all, it was a good cruise. I would do it again.

cruise 2017 by 2017Headedsout

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The staff was great from the ones taking care of the cabins to all the servers to the Ken in the dining room.  Really loved the part where he sang to us each evening.  Our group was not seated together for dinner and Ken worked miracles to get us all together and to get the couple that was with us the first night seated with their family -- kudos to Ken.

I liked the shows in the evening but felt two nights of game shows was a bit much.

I was not happy when I dropped my watch on the floor and reached under the bed and found a vibrator beside my watch.  You need to look under that bed more often.

The breakfast in the dining room could have more variety.

overall a good experience.

The table and desk in the room looks worse for wear and the general decor is looking tired and old.

Above average by Bob59

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Cruise went smoothly.  Food was good but not outstanding.  Entertainment was so-so.  Not as good as cruises we've done in the past.  Don't like Carnival's policy on tendering to ports.

Carnival Pride by mrlndr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Showroom Entertainment was excellent,  Food was just OK. Not served on hot plates so hot foods were not hot. Seasoning on meats was not there- very bland.  Buffet choices were good but again cold plates for hot foods and hot plates for salad and dessert. Wonderful cruise director and Captain and crew.

Mostly good, a few missteps... by 100places

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed the cruise, although I don't think we would pick Carnival again. It's just not our kind of place, although there were dozens (perhaps hundreds) of couples just like us aboard. The "fun" theme is fine, but it may be overused and hard to maintain these days. This cruise certainly gave us a view of the wide spectrum of human forms, shapes, and personalities in this country. I've rarely enjoyed people watching so much. However...we'll stick with Princess next time, maybe move on elsewhere, perhaps to other lines, but probably not Carnival.

Worst cruise we've been on by qnazephyr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our cabin steward was so helpful and charming.

The food was terrible, most of it extremely undercooked.  Three in our party ordered the baked apples -- I never got mine (waiter ran after me as I was leaving to give me one on a plate).  The ones that got them, the apples were so uncooked they could barely cut them with a knife and ended up not eating them; chicken was half raw; prime rib was very, very thin, fatty and cold; salmon patties were mushy and uncooked; wrong meals were delivered to the table; coffee orders were ignored.  The entertainment was terrible; looked like a high school review and very provocative.   Smoke in casino was over the top -- looked like a foggy day in London.  More venting could help.  Could smell the casino from the far end of the ship when we got off of elevator.  Most of the crew couldn't speak enough English to be helpful.  Was terribly disappointed in this cruise.  The best part was sitting on our balcony enjoying the unpolluted air.
