The Carnival Pride is a lovely ship. The crew and staff are remarkable. The ports of call are beautiful (except skip Santorini) and fairly easy to navigate. I would travel on the Pride again.
Embarkation

I've cruised on various lines over 20 times. I've never experienced anything as efficient as the Carnival Pride. And our suitcases came incredibly quickly.

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Most of the food in the main dining room was very good. We skipped the specialty dining. The buffet on the Lido was okay. The only real complaint I have is that the flavor is lacking in too many things. Lemon pie that didn't taste like lemon. Key lime pie that was flavorless. Grand Marnier souffle that had no orange flavor. This seems like a simple fix to me. Otherwise, for a family based cruise, I thought the food more than adequate just not spectacular.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There's plenty to do on the ship. The hot tub in the serenity area was nice. The spaces are kept very well. Fitness center was good.
Entertainment

The shows were good. The music in the atrium was mostly very good.

Service and Staff

Our room assistant steward, Kariana, was absolutely fabulous. I've never had better. He was professional, very appropriately friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond for my friend who traveled with me. It was her first cruise. He did a towel animal for her every night. She was enchanted and delighted. Kar is always upbeat. He always remembered our names. He knew our routine immediately and was, therefore, unobtrusive. He was absolutely exceptional in all areas. Thank you to him for making our beds and experience fabulous.

Everything seemed very well maintained. Everything was exceptionally clean. Impressive work.

Lots of storage in the closet systems and desk systems. Nice bathroom. Great shower. Nice towels. GREAT BEDS. WE SLEPT MARVELOUSLY. Loved having a balcony. Really enjoyed the Carnival Pride. It was my first time. I've been on ten Carnival ships. I think the cleanliness standards across the board is exceptional. But I really enjoyed the Pride.
Ship tip
Take a cruise on the Pride. A smaller ship with great comfort and many amenities. And the staff and crew are fabulous.
I've been to Rome many times and for extended stays. It's always a joy to reunite with the city. We did not take an excursion but explored by ourselves. The only real issue is the distance to port from Rome but everyone makes that work for the adventure of the city.
Fabulous place. We did do an excursion: lighthouse, monastery, beaches, downtown, little Venice. Absolutely charming and delightful place. Never been before and loved it.
A BIG MESS. FOUR CRUISE SHIPS AT A PLACE WITHOUT THE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR IT WAS A NIGHTMARE FOR EVERYONE THAT DAY. OLDER ADULTS FORCED TO DESCEND THOSE ALMOST 700 SLIPPERY STEPS IN THE HOT SUN WAS UNSAFE. TOO MANY PEOPLE WERE HURT. I love Santorini but next time, stay on the ship. Cruise companies need to be better about planning stops. Ridiculous and dangerous.
I was sick after the visit to Santorini. Too much sun and too much physical exertion to navigate a too small space and all those steps. Made me miss a great place.
Katakolon is lovely. The excursion to Olympia was wonderful. Loved the ruins and the museum. All set in a beautiful and peaceful environment. Would absolutely go again.
Taormina is one of my favorite places. It did not disappoint. Also took advantage of a small tour to other villages and then a quick stop at the cathedral in Messina. Beautiful church. Beautiful day. Beautiful people and places.
Naples is a nice place. We lost out on our excursion - boat to Capri and Amalfi - because of weather. That's understandable - just sad and disappointing. Still had a good time even in the rain.
