Review summary
We did not get sick, our toilets didn't break, and the captain piloted the ship without incident. Having said this, there is more to a memorable cruise vacation than just avoiding catastrophes. We have enjoyed cruise vacations for years and have traveled on several lines. We came on board Carnival with an expectation and were disappointed around every corner. There was a charge for everything; all we expected from a cruise to be included, we were asked to pay for additionally. They allowed smoking in all public places, smoke does not stay in its designated area. They provided "adult" activities which in some cases were offensive. The shows were groupings of songs, not really shows. There was no non-denominational Sunday service, nor did they even open the chapel for people to gather. Because of the nickle-dime mindset and the lack of respectful and appropriate activities for "all" guests, we will not travel Carnival again, nor can we recommend it.

Ship tip
Remember when you get a balcony, you can't pick your neighbors. Disrespectful neighbors can significantly impact your balcony-room experience. Inside room is cheaper and if you're a sun-lover it is the best value since you'll be on deck most of the time.
