My husband and I enjoyed the price and itinerary. It was so wonderful to be on a Carnival ship again.

Legend of the seas was a lovely cruise experience with the exception of the food. The ship was easy to get around and the crew was friendly and helpful

Cattle car in the Caribbean by SheilaM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Where's the tropical fruit? Too much waiting in line. Good for families with young children, not elderly. Cruise line should make that more clear so that customers are not disappointed. If you expect to be catered to and treated like a pampered guest this is not the cruise for you.

Family Reunion Cruise by ToniC3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Overall, it was decorated adequately, although some of the ceilings were too low. The Follies theatre was a good venue. The staterooms were just average-sized.

Both my mother and myself got sick on the cruise from something that we picked up either on the ship or at port.

Average at best by LisaB16

I was incredibly disappointed that they allowed smoking in the casino, which ruined the experience for us. BUT, I was extremely upset that the ship allowed people to smoke on their balconies. We were completely unable to enjoy ours, which we paid extra for, because our next door neighbors smoked all the time on their balcony. It was miserable.

Terrible Time :{ by KarenC9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

MaiderD was awful, never accommodated my request VIP meant zip! My SUITE had a tiny balcony and view of the stairway which the staff used to sit and chat on & the jacuzzi was busted, poor quality suite. It rained so on the roof over the salad bar on the Lido deck poured down. Main dining experience the same, the soups were way watered down, portions were TINY. Example, stuffed mushroom appetiser, you get (2) small ones & the sour cream on my baked potato was the consistency of milk (you get the idea)! One bottle of wine for dinner was $42 off the ship same bottle is $13. The jewerly store had raffles stating a give-away for normally $99 watch/gift sets. I've bought them before, they are worth $20 or less since they are cheap, break & tarnish definitely not a $99 value so that is a false claim. Tampa port does not have a separate VIP line as other ports do, the VIP starts after the long line & baggage check, what good is it then? VIP debarkation, same thing, everyone filtered down the stairs and there was no separate VIP line, VIP means nothing to Carnival anymore? Drinks onboard are HUGELY overpriced (example a mamosa was $9+$2 automatic tip), once you pay for the cruise you keep on paying, drinks, tips, tours, spa... which the spa should be part of the cruise experience and not a separate billing item. I use to crise EVERY year, not any more.

Very good cruise by Marlenek1

Ship was well maintained. Crew and staff were friendly. Nice size ship...not too big or too small. Smoking is allowed on balconies but there is not a side for smokers and a side for nonsmokers. Beware if you have asthma and pay for a balcony, your neighbors smoke may be blowing right into your lungs.

Not so great by MariaP9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We cruised many times, and our favorite is Royal Caribbean. However, since this trip was a holiday trip with 6 kids, we opted for Carnival. Our expectations weren't very high, so we went in not anticipating the "best." First of all, two of our cabins had no AC. It wasn't until the 4th day of the cruise that it was finally repaired. There were also various broken things in the cabin (the towel rack was actually TAPED to keep it together; and the bathroom faucet handle literally came off when it was turned on). Being experienced cruisers, we are well aware of tips and extra expenses, but the staff expectations for tips were very awkward; the cost of drinks were unbelievable; and the miscellaneous extra expenses (with a tip on top) for other things were just absurd. You had to pay $12 for a yoga class, and then the instructor requested a tip... It may be that we had a heightened awareness of gratuities since we weren't very pleased otherwise - but, it just started to feel ridiculous.

great cruise, but ending was so upset by LongfeiL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Generally, I like it all, EXCEPT the disembarkation process. It was so STUPID and will make me think twice when choosing cruise next time!!! They seems aware of your early flight (a kind letter sent to you the day before disembarkation), but what they have done will eventually make you late. The off-board process is self-assist participants first. In order to qualify for that, you have to be U.S citizens and would like to take all your luggages by your own. ATTN if you have an early flight and let them move your luggage off the ships for you (sound nice, huh?), you will have to wait after all the self-assist participants leave. In other word, if you let them take care of your luggages, they did not really care about your early flight, you have to wait ( the kind letter was totally bullshit). IN ADDITION, I have to highlight. As I am non-U.S citizen, I am not allowed to take my luggages and they have to be taken care by the cruise. Why only U.S citizens can join the self-assist program? No one can skip the scan when going through customs. And as non-U.S citizen, we have gotten up early (630am) in order to be checked when immigrant officers come to the ship early morning (this means we are legally off-board to U.S similar to all Americans). Therefore, why we are not able to join the self-assist process? Can't this be called as discrimination? Do ALL Americans using self-assist really have the urgent need to get off shore so early? We understand disembarkation may be easier for Americans and late flight would be better, but the way solving that problem shows they do not really put themselves into customers' shoes. All in all, the disembarkation ruins all the good things before.
