the cruise overall was good.  i was disappointed that we didn't get to see whales (well, only one), but i know that is something that cannot be controlled.  my cabin was perfect and my cabin steward (Saurijana) deserves mention because he was terrific - very attentive and helpful.  i was disappointed with the entertainment on board. i took a recent cruise with Carnival to Cozumel in February and the entertainment was the same, though at least on the Legend the entertainers were of better quality.  the food left a lot to be desired.  our evening dining in the Ruffles restaurant was made very pleasant by our waiter, last name Gonzalez from the Phillipines (cannot recall his first name).  the excursion i was able to take were nice - Misty Arms Fjord, a train excursion.  i am disabled so i was not able to participate in many of the other excursions - also i found them rather pricey.  also, we seemed to have spent the greater amount of time at the smallest port (Skagway) and the least amount of time at a larger stop (Victoria).  Overall, i rate the cruise a 4 out of 5 because i did get to see things i had never seen before.

Ship Quality
I think they should offer FREE Wi-FI. the cost of the cruise is not cheap and this should be considered.
Food and Dining
seems like all the Carnival ships offer the same menu
Service and Staff
can't say enough of my cabin steward - Saurijana...excellent, friendly, outstanding
nothing to write home about
Children's Programs
my granddaughter spent a lot of time at a camp for kids her age - 8 - she loved it
Onboard Activities
for a 7-day cruise there should have been more activities during the day
Destinations and Excursions
there is nothing bad about seeing Alaska. it was a great experience.
Cabin / Stateroom
Seattle, Washington
met an old friend who showed me around the city. it was wonderful
Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska
it was quite an experience seeing the glaciers calving
Skagway, Alaska
cold. windy. very pleasant. had a good time there. way too much time for such a small town
Juneau, Alaska
had a great tour guide - Ben Jackson from M&M Tours - a native, very knowledgeable. did way too much shopping
Ketchikan, Alaska
another small town, very nice, did lots of shopping. very nice
Victoria, British Columbia
a great town to visit - wish we had had more time there. by the time we arrived it was almost dark and the ship arrive 30 minutes late which cut down on the time we had to see anything
