We have always enjoyed carnival cruises. This time we brought friends and relatives to enjoy the experience.
For the most part the cruise was enjoyable, but as I said before, we had issues with food in the main dining hall
not being cooked properly which was not the case in past cruises. And with our group all being in rooms 1355 as my self and wife, friends in rooms 1349, 1359 and 1367 we had 2 nights where we experienced an unknown vibration in our rooms which made it almost impossible to sleep. After reporting the issue we were told that it was caused by the ships window cleaning system, and eventually the problem was taken care of. As far as the cruise, all in all I believe our party enjoyed themselves very much and would do it again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We had a group of 10 and this was the easiest time we ever had in the embarkation process.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Main dining room was fine. The food was not as good as previous trips. Our group of 10 sent some plates back especially Filet Mignon to be recooked or replaced because it was under cooked or greatly over cooked. The Chicken almost consistently was tough and was returned by several in our party.. Definitely not as good as the last cruises we were on.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Onboard activities were very good, everyone in our group enjoyed themselves very much. The Skyride was we think the best attraction. Minature golf, and the bean bag toss kept everyone busy, not to mention the pool tables and ping pong.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Stage show was ok but not as good as past cruises. Heard many comments about the lack of comedy shows and our group agreed.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room Steward, His name was Angel was the best in every way. Friendly, able to answer every question we had, was always very helpful on every occasion . Kept our rooms clean and orderly at all times, would love to have him again.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
most of us thought the main dining room was somewhat lack luster compared to the other Carnival Cruise ships. The layout and new style elevators were great. Easy access to everything.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The king size bed was very comfortable, bathrooms very nice, all in all exceptional.
We spent 4 extra days in Barcelona and wore our shoes out walking its streets and savoring its food, not to mention beautiful city. Highly recommended.
Pompeii was something I always wanted to see, it was more than we ever expected. Amalfi Coast was beautiful beyond our expectations. The village of Sorrento was like sipping back in time. The food was excellent.
I thought the design of the ‘Liquid Lounge’ was poor. Must be the smallest theatre I’ve seen on a ship. The stage was so small the dancers have to perform between the chairs, visibility is poor. The first 6/7 rows were forever looking over there shoulders to watch the show.
