The Fun Cruise by amykiger757

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

From the welcome aboard to the fairwell party, we had a totally wonderful trip.  The cruise was fun and their is always something to do ... or do nothing at all.  We chose to see great shows, enjoy champagne auctions and play fun games.  This was our third cruise and the food in the dining room, was only fair at best.  This didn't bother us because there were other places to go and eat.  We thoroughly enjoy cruising and can't wait to go again.  The port doesn't even matter, we enjoy the pampering.

It's very clean but a lot of the staff needs some serious customer service training.

Great weekend getaway. by SaraM68445247

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: U.S.

We did a 2 night 'cruise to nowhere' out of Norfolk. This was really a test cruise to see how our kids, 6 & 7 would do on a boat. It was a sucess. The room had bunk beds, the kids dinner menu was great and Camp Carnival never boring to them. We are ready to try a 5 day cruise.

Worth the money by EricM1

This is my second time doing this same cruise so it must not be too bad. It seemed like they rushed us off the ship this time. SHip got back to Norfolk at 6:00 or so and they started call for people to get off at 7:00. Now for those that did not party all night and was ready to get off, this may have been great, but for me, not so great. All and all I would do it again if the price was right (smile).

Disappointing by SteveS30

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

The Norfolk cruise terminal isn't setup for a crowd that is handling their own baggage. There were 2500 people trying to use three six passenger elevators with their bags to board and only one elevator to disembark. Both ways took over two hours.

Fun with friends! by DaveJaynieC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Carnival Glory was clean, with good service & friendly staff. We did not appreciate smoking allowed throughout the ship. There were no smoking signs on the bar by the casino, but yet ash trays were provided by the bartenders for smokers. Very disappointing! We liked being able to sail from Norfolk which is close to home.

Best Vacation Ever by BonnieAndBrianK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This ship was a perfect first cruise for me. From the Red Sail Restaurant to the Emerald Steakhouse, the food was delicious every single time. Our room was very clean and the room stewards made sure it was always well-stocked with towels. Anytime we had a question or request, it was met with polite, well-mannered responses. I can't imagine cruising on any other cruise line. The Glory's captain was friendly and nice; the maitre'd was seen several times throughout the cruise in all restaurant areas consulting with his staff; the waiters were efficient and quick. The entire ship's crew did an excellent job for the entire six-day cruise.

Great Cruise by BigS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The overall appearance was good. Very clean and maintained. Friendly staff at port and on-board. The main reason we chose this cruise (or any cruise) is for its itinerary. We were quite surprised on the amount of older people on this cruise. We did not see many families on board and we were probably one of the youngest. We have traveled on Holland America (Alaska) before and after this particular cruise, I would have to say that there were more seniors than Holland (which blows my mind). Carnival is known for its \"fun-ship\" mentality, so we were caught off-guard of the clientele. Also, the youngest age on all of our excursions from Carnival was 65. Irregardless, the ports of call is why we chose this particular cruise line. You will love New England and Canada! We liked it so much that we are planning on returning back in the next couple of years. If possible, visit in October so you can see the beautiful seasonal changes. It is worth it!!

We found the staff very helpful and pleasant to deal with. We met some fellow passengers we enjoyed as we shared meals together in the dining room. Matt was a good director and engaged people well.

Carnival Glory is not glorious! by JoanH1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Shipped was packed . Food was way below acceptable standards with the exception of the Steakhouse @ $35 per person, Showroom entertainment didn't entertain. Cruise was a BIG disappointment.
