Amazing Time by All by benjira

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was great. The head waiter at our dinner table was amazing and he became a part of our family for 7 nights, his name is Romiel. He treated our 10 year old daughter like she was his own flesh and blood. It was so sad to say good by to him. The rest of the cruise was great. I am not impressed with Carnival turning the whole cruise into one giant marketing plan. They must kill a few hundred trees on every cruise that they sail, with all of their marketing materials. They try and nickle and dime you at every moment of the cruise. SO if you think you are paying $500 for a cruise you can pretty much double or triple that price by the time you get off of the ship. The hawkers at the ports were very bothersome as well. Roatan Henry in Honduras had the best zip line beach tour out of all of the excursions we took, I would highly recommend it. Blue Way car rental in Cozumel was horrible, they showed up with a rusted out mini van that would not crank and ended up costing me another $80. Stay away from this company. All in all it was a great experience.

Summer Cruisin' by aeason001

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The cruise all in all was good.

Here are the reasons why I didn't rate it higher:

1.  The kid's Circle-C program lacked organization and planning.  There were times when the kids were just sitting around.  This is there cruise too and should have something planned through out the day.

2.  The food was good but, not great.  Sometimes it reminded me of cafeteria style food.

3.  We had the Carnival Sunshine mirroring us and upon arriving at Grand Turks it was a mess.  We had a very limited time to disembark and weren't aware until that morning.  We missed our excursion and had to take a later one.  This was ok, but, missed our beach time on our excursion because it was later in the afternoon.

4.  Guest Services staff was not friendly as they should be.  Several times we approached them with questions and were given the feeling we were being a nuissance.

5.  Hostesses in the dining area at breakfast were also rude.

All these items above out weighed the good though.  The housekeeping staff was excellent.  The "waiters'" were awesome.  The steakhouse tasted amazing as it should.  The ship at it's entirety, was very clean.

Excellent Crew Experience by razalbb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My husband and I have taken many cruises on different cruise lines.  This was our first Carnival experience.  The crew was wonderful.  We had the best experience with the dining room staff ever.  They knew us by name and made sure everything was done to our liking.  The stateroom (balcony) was the largest one we ever had; plenty of room for the too many clothes we brought!  Food was very good with many choices.   The "deli" was a nice touch.  Only negative was the entertainment - it was not really our kind of music.  We also were not thrilled with one of the late night comedy acts - she was rauncy and not at all funny.  Last, but not least, the adult pool was great.  No loud music or kids.

50th Wedding Anniversary celebration by mkuczka

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had never cruised before.  We had the time of our lives.  We enjoyed every minute of it.  It felt like we partied for seven days, and we had no idea how tired we were until we got home!  Loved the entertainment, the food, the Carnival people who served and talked to us, the towel animals, the cruise director (Dr. E), the games, the ports, the ocean, the ship.......heck....everything!!!  Thanks, Carnival

Carnival Glorious by rbarnes06477

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very nice since putting in place the "FunShip" 2.0 features on board. Guy's burger joint was excellent as was the blue iguana burrito and tacos. Very authentic, great a la carte options that were never included with carnival voyages before.

I've cruised a dozen times or so on many lines, and the food on carnival, especially the steakhouse competes or exceeds Royal Caribbean on many levels. Even the Oasis, with it's multiple options fails to compete with carnival.

The ports of call were ok..Cozumel is great for shopping, Belize for snorkeling, Roatan for the beach and Costa Maya for the port..which has a wonderful restaurant, swim-up bar and ample shopping in the immediate area.

Definitely a cruise, however, to be on your guard. Be very careful if planning trips on your own into Belize City or outside Costa Maya's port. Can be dangerous.

Brought my 12-year old as a graduation gift and she didn't want the cruise to end. She absolutely loved it.

vacations by mrasch

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

We love the service in general. The restaurant waiters were excellent. They make our experience very pleasant; we enjoy going to eat all the time. The activities during the cruise were fabulous. The casino experience was very good too. Thank you for making our vacations a dream come true. Now the only part we did not like was Belize. Nothing to see, no nice beaches at all. We did not like that stop. We thought it was going to be different.

the food in the main dining was terrible. I also think the entertainment has gone down hill.

the main shows at night were much better years ago when i went on a carnival cruise.

Go to 4 countries in the awesome caribbean by planetg53

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had never gone on a cruise with Carnival, usually we go with NCL but the itinerary was the draw as well as the price. The food was amazing, the service top notch and the ports were beautiful. We did the beach buggy snorkel in Cozumel which was a little pricey but the Explore Caribe group with Memo and Santiago made it worth every penny, we had a wonderful time! in Belize Chukka tours did the Altun Ha Belize city tour and they were greatHappye did a tour with South Shore 11 zip lines eco tour and the beach the most fun ever and In Grand Cayman we had to find an excursion because Carnival cancelled our Reef Snorkel We went to Stingray City, snokeled near the reef and had an awesome experience. Guys burgers and the Blue Ignauna grill were a welcome lunch after returning from excursions. We chose your time dining and were suprised to have lobster and filet mignon in the Golden dining room. The shows were good but few of them and the punchliner comedy club was hit or miss. All and all we had a great trip this was not our first cruise but first time visiting the western caribbean and we will return. Carnival did a good job although the Glory is a little dated. I felt there could have been more entertainment options although we went to all the shows Motor City, Divas and Latin nights which were really very good.

Dream cruise of the Caribbean. by Pauloproto

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Carnival Glory is a very good ship, with very friendly staff and wonderful food. The route through the Caribbean was just perfect, and my expectations were fully met.

The two only negative aspects I found were: too cold inside the ship + too many smokers everywhere.

I would certainly recommend this cruise to anyone, and might take a similar one again someday.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

THe cruise itself was good. The port were all okay. The entertainment was not that good as compared to our previous cruise with carnival Valor. The service was okay too. Not much selection with food. THe burger was great. Not much variety of selection on dinner time it seems like they repeat their menu's at dinner. I had better selection of food, menu's with valor.

Me and 6 girlfriends went on this cruise and it was perfect for a 40th birthday girl's trip!  It was wonderful spending our days on the incredible tropical islands and coming together for delicious dining each evening with and absolutely top-notch dining room staff, and catching a show or a comedy act.  The perfect sinerio for relaxation, adventure and fun, fun, fun!!!

first bad cruise out of 12, will not sail on Carnival ship again unless change made by bettycarter10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Smoking has always been allowed on one side of Lido deck on every other cruise we have ever taken.  But it was not allowed anywhere on deck except for a corner on deck 10 where there were 12 chairs , there was NO housekeeping to the area for 3 days and then only after we all complained at the front desk , and no service from waiters.  We were shuned.  Smoking was allowed in casino IF YOU WERE GAMBLING, and at some bars IF YOU WERE DRINKING ONLY. So smoking was OK as long as you were drinking or gambling and giving Carnival more MONEY but not otherwise.

We are very disgusted and will never sail on Carnival again unless their policy changes.  We will also tell anyone we know to shun Carnival.      From  Elizabeth and William Carter
