For this being my first cruise, it was FUN! I didn't know what to expect, the staff was awesome and drinks were Excellent! Food was not so great, It was cold when served to you at the formal dinners and tasteless. The buffet food should have been more simple and comforting. The Excursions ROCKED! Chuka Tour Guide Elvis made Belize look appealing! People on the cruise were all friendly. Love how the cruise crew made you enjoy your vacation. You Only Live once...do whatever you want!

Don't cruise Carnival by eagleoneh99

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The security staff of this vessel are unprofessional. I had an unfortunate event on this trip and it was handled poorly. I've sent a letter to the CEO and Carnival did nothing with regards to correcting what was wrong. I will ensure that every person I talk to about cruising that I recommend any cruise line besides Carnival.

Great service.....poor to mediocre food by frsokol

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The service, both in the dining room and stateroom, was great. I can not say that about the food. It didn't mater what I ordered in the dining room, it was tasteless small portions, and cold. The crew were efficient and well trained. Entering and exiting the ship at the ports was reasonably easy although I was surprised that 2 out of the 4 ports used tenders, limiting the shore time greatly and necessitating long  lines when returning to the ship.

Wonderful Family Trip by debbiestanley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We loved Glory!  There was so much to do!  Food, service, and entertainment were great!  The kids love the kids programs!  There were so many places to relax and people watch.  The dining room service was wonderful.  We really love Guy's burgers!  So many food choices other than the main dining room.

Glory days!!! by srussell001619

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The cruise was good, it wasn't a lot to do in the evenings. I really thought the food was good, The steakhouse Emerald room had excellent food. Weather was good. I would have enjoyed the cruise more if there was more entertainment in the evening!

Good Cruise for all ages by neatkid

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Carnival Glory was a great ship for families with many different needs.  There was a variety of food and entertainment.  Also many different areas if you just want to relax. Two separate adult only areas.  Our family loved Guy's Burger joint, as did most of the passengers.  When Carnival advertises as a "Fun Ship" they provide the atmosphere.  There were many many bars on this ship.  We enjoyed the comedy, Hasbro game shows and movies under the stars.  The staff was very friendly.  I saw one lady take the time to talk to a single elderly passenger for a very long time.  I spoke to two different staff members for about 10 minutes each about various things.  The only thing that needs work is the cleanliness.  I think they might need to work on embarkation.  Our stateroom wasn't clean when we were allowed to enter.  The cabin still had other passenger's forgotten items.  The bathroom wasn't cleaned - toothpaste on the counter and sticky floor.  The worst thing was my daughter's bedding had a big blood stain on it.  Our luggage was also delivered fairly late compared to other cruises we have taken.  Other public areas were also not as clean compared to other cruises.  This was our 9th cruise.

Nice Ship, Nice Time, Not Nice Ports of Call by earlfaber

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall we had a good time.  The crew was fantastic, food good and plenty to do or just relax.  Except for Grand Cayman, the ports of call comprised a shopping mall of all the same chains of duty free shops.  Not worth getting off the ship.  If you are taking the all day excursion to the Mayan ruins in Belize, then getting off the ship is worth it.  My only problem with the ship was the overwhelming smoke in the casino.  I like to play, but after 20 minutes I had to leave, never to return.  They need a separate "non-smoking" casino.  As an older couple, for future cruises, I will research the age demographics the cruise line attracts.  Looking for more sophistication than the 25-35 majority crowd on Carnival.

Wifi access by rhoolasie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This cruise is lacking the abiltiy to make wifi connections.  Carnival needs to charge an additional $2-5 for every guest so that passengers can keep in touch with their families instead of charging $29 for only 45 minutes of internet.  Wifi is free worldwide,  Surely they can do better than that.

My Long-Awaited Vacation! by stha

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Carnival Glory is a beautiful ship to sail on!  It was kept extremely clean--no illness worries at all.  My room attendant was the most gracious young woman with a fabulous sense of humor since I'd always walk in the wrong direction when leaving my room and she'd kiddingly say, "Other way!"  The dining room had nice choices for dinner--I loved the braised rabbit!  It feels special when people remember your name and all servers, barkeeps, etc., did.  The casino was the jumping place with great music, fun people at the bar, and making new friends at the machines!  There are quiet places if you need a moment--lively places, different bars to check out, food EVERYWHERE, and FUN was in the air!!!!  I can't wait until my next cruise!  (I traveled alone--no family nor friends and had the time of my life meeting new people and not having others to worry about!  Ok, call me selfish but I deserved it!  LOL!)

Memorable Experience by ctcp

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Carnival Glory cruise to the western Caribbean was a memorable experience for all.  There were continuous activities for kids and adults alike.  The wait staff and stewards were excellent and made us feel "at home" for the week.

My only complaint is there really should be a larger or extra pool.  There are two small pools, which were always jam packed with people.  An indoor pool would be nice.

Other than that, there was good food and good times aboard the Carnival Glory.

Good cruise- but lacking the details by NaplesTraveler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall we had a overall we had a good time - but that is mainly due to the stops being amazing locations. The carnival Glory was an older ship- but was in good condition and had nice amenities. The rooms were clean, and our room attendant was amazing. He took great care in our rooms and needs the whole trip. My negatives were the pool and pool area were downright dirty. The pool was actually too gross for even my kids to get into. The food areas around the pool should have been cleaned more often as they were really disgusting. The inside buffet was well kept and clean- however we found the evening dinner to be anything but fine dining. Rushed in and out, no one even offered us a drink, and the service team really didn't speak to us except to quickly take our order. Because of those reasons we opted to do the buffet the last few evenings as it was more enjoyable. My biggest complaint and it was really a big one was multiple times the cruise ship staff gave my children direction which I found to be unsafe. These occurred getting on and off the tender boats during rough waters & getting off the boat at the main dock. As the parent I should absolutely know and be aware how my 6 year old will be taken off the ship. They actually stepped in front of my husband and picked my 6 daughter up and took her across a very unsteady bridge to the tender boat. When my husband got upset and said "that's my daughter" they got angry and held him back off the boat. This happened on several occasions- you can NOT separate children from parents or take a child from a parent without explaining what you are doing. For this reason I have to question the judgement and safety of the cruise line.

First time on a cruise by curtyb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My friend is a frequent Carnival cruiser, so I gave it a shot for my 10th wedding anniversary.  I could not have been more pleased.  The ship was the Glory.  There were ample eateries and activities to keep us entertained for 7 days.  So many that we even didn't get to experience all of them.  The staff was exceptional.  Each individual was extremely friendly.  The wait staff of Wika, Nepa, and Jessie, in the Golden dining room were so wonderful that we looked for them each day.  I couldn't comprehend why individuals cruise frequently, but after my first experience I wonder why I waited so long.

Carnival Glory Family Reunion Trip May 2-9, 2015 by Danno

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Crew exceptional.  Accommodations (balcony cabin) very good. Food very good, with excellent variety (too much, but that was my fault), but too much salt at times.  On board activities at times cancelled or mismatched the advertised schedule.  Green Eggs and Ham breakfast with Dr. Seuss characters lots of fun for all ages. The interior of the boat was a bit tacky and dowdy.  We didn't watch the comedy shows but the stage shows were very entertaining with high energy and good choreography.  Good choice of ports of call.  Thoroughly enjoyed the horseback riding on Grand Turk and the snorkeling off St. Thomas.  Glory had more ocean caused vibrations than other ships we have cruised on.

Awesome 50th Birthday Cruise with a bittersweet ending by pauletted33

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This cruise was planned as a celebration of my 50th birthday. It was the first time we had ever taken a cruise and we made plans for every port.

On the first evening, we met our table mates. I don't know how they choose who you will sit with, but we couldn't have been matched up any better! The other couple has been married as long as my husband and I have and our daughters are the same age with their birthdays within one day of each other. We had a great time getting to know each other and exchanged contact info before we left.

Our first stop was at Half Moon Cay. We went horseback riding on the beach and then in the ocean! What an experience! I had always wanted to do this and we had the best time. The people working with the horses were great and made the excursion so much fun.

The next stop was in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We chose to do an excursion that was not through Carnival. It was through a group called "A Taste of San Juan". It was a walking tour with several stops along the way. The young lady leading the tour was very informative about the architecture and history of the area. Our stops included a local coffee and pastry shop, a new all-natural popsicle shop, an art gallery where they served a food I can't remember the name of (but it was good), we made mofongo (chicken and plantains) at a restaurant and ate it, and then we had to leave. There were two more stops scheduled, but the ship's departure schedule was changed after we had booked the excursion. It was an easy walk back to the ship.

St. Thomas was the next stop. We took the Champagne Catamaran Snorkeling Tour to St. John's. Captain Joe and his crew were awesome! This was yet another first for us. We had a blast! There were stingrays, turtles, colorful fish, and beautiful corals. We took lots of pictures. Everyone on the trip seemed to have had a great time.

Our last port was Grand Turk. We went on the ATV excursion around the island. The guys leading the tour were really nice and gave you a lot of information about the area. The only problem I had was that I couldn't hear what they were saying through the headsets built into the helmets. We had a great time anyway!

The bittersweet part of our cruise came on the last day at sea. We received a call to let us know that my husband's mother had passed away. The folks on the cruise ship could not have been nicer. They offered free ship-to-shore calls, and they connected us with Delta to get our flights changed. They even helped us get off the ship as quickly as possible so that we could get to the airport. I must also give kudos to Delta. They changed our flights to get us home earlier and didn't charge us to do so.

Even though our trip ended on a sad note, we are looking forward to our next cruise.

Glory Needs some upgrades by kcoatesfamily

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our 4th carnival cruise.  Compared to our trip on the Splendor last year this one was a total disappointment, the ship was, not our vacation.  There were no extra's on this trip for sure...no chocolates on our pillows, no hair dryer in our cabin.  Staff was not very sympathetic that our cabin did not have a hair dryer.  apparently there was not a spare one to be found on the ship at all so one was not put in our room at all.  there was no...we are sorry Mrs., can we give you....xxxxxx??  What I got was an employee telling me..."well I don't have one in my room either!!"  (Hanna at guest services).  We were on deck 2 and during our stay a couple rooms down from us had to be gutted and there was a terrible smell coming from those rooms.  All very hush hush, nothing to let us know why or what they were doing.  Mini golf course was difficult to get to...you had to go thru the basketball/volleyballs courts to access it.  No late night buffet.  Only pizza available late at night and ice cream.  It would have been nice to have some other options.  Also the buffet closed at 2 p.m. when we were in ports so when we came back for lunch all that was available was pizza and burgers, not great for 3 of our 6 member group.  Compared to our other 3 Carnival cruises, this ship was very disappointing. The decor is dark and dingy We did have a fabulous time with our friends and enjoyed the excursions and the ports we explored but really did not enjoy the ship.

not worth the price. by sunkissedcindi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

entertainment lacking unless bingo is your thing, service poor,no one asked if we would like a drink when we were sitting up on deck or in the casino,,bought bottomless bubble package. had about 5 soda's the entire cruise and that was in the dining room. so that ends up being about $10.00 a soda, Only saw 4 shows the entire cruise, then they repeated same shows. On return from port went to casino for different activities. sat there for 6 hours and no activities took place.  would not recommend Carnival cruise line to anyone. Also promised $50.00 on board credit upon reservation. once on ship told us no credit.
