Relaxing Cruise by JoyceL4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My family enjoyed the cruise. This was my 3rd cruise and my childrens 1st cruise, I am happy I got to experience this with them. My 15 yr old son took advantage of everything the ship had to offer, including club O2. My 9 yr old daughter didn't enjoy camp carnival as much, i guess because of the hours. By the time we dropped her off, she would stay an hour, we will have to pick her back up because of lunch or activities(like scavenger hunt on the ship). i didn't feel comfortable letting her roam the ship with other kids and no supervision. The food was great and we enjoyed the entertainment.

5 day cruise by VR

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

this is a nice ship and we were on it in june, 2010. The food was better in 2010(we both had the same opinion) but it was still good this time. I would cruise this ship agin if the price is right.

a pretty but run down ship by EveH1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

Ship was worn and cabins very small with no refrigerator. Lots of comfort food which is not what we look for on a cruise.

Fabulous and relaxing vacation! by KristaG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

I thoroughly enjoyed this cruise and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, awesome vacation. Everything was easy -- from parking at the Julia Terminal to boarding the ship, to the trip itself, to debarking. The glamour and luxury of the ship were exciting. The live music was consistently great, and the staff were wonderful.

The Carnival Elation is a bit old and could use a make over but overall, the ship is clean and well maintained. Crew is was the not the friendliest we've encountered but they got the job done.

Good Cruise by CaramiaS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our third group cruise on Carnival. Overall we were happy with the staterooms, the cleanliness of the ship and service. Our staterooms were on the inside which, again, proved to be quiet. They were a nice size and well serviced for the most part. The ship is very clean and well maintained. All of the personnel with whom we came into contact were very nice and went out of their way to provide good service. The dining options in the main dining room were varied and appealed to everyone. It was a nice cruise.

Not my favorite by AM6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

There was no escape from the frantic activity and constant noise being passed off as "fun" on this "fun ship." There were virtually no public areas that you could escape to pursue quiet activities. The "Serenity" area was mobbed, presumably by those also seeking some peace and relaxation.

Cruised on the Carnival Elation. Accommodations a bit tired, but spotlessly clean, adequately sized and comfortable. Public areas well maintained. Staff courteous and friendly. Great variety of food; something for everyone.

Wonderful Cruise by Tom7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

This was our 3rd cruise, but first time on Carnival. Had always hear Carnival was a party ship for mostly younger people. This was not the case. This was a great ship for all ages. Guest were well behaved and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Would definitly consider Carnival again. Great price also.

a nice relaxing break by MichelleW5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Love the porthole room, same price as an interior but more room and a window! Smaller boat, easy to get around, we were on the R Deck (bottom) so we did alot of stairs every day to get to deck 10 (the pool and sun). Didn't get in the pool, too small, too many kids. Liked the eating area behind the buffet dining room for breakfast or lunch, hardly anyone out there and nice view. Did the your time dinning, which we liked going when we felt like it, but if you love to socialize with the strangers on the boat and like having the same service staff, then you need to stick with a set time for dinning. Bring your allowed 12 non-alcohol drinks per person, your wallet will be glad you did. The food was a little bland for my taste, but we did eat our fair share, nothing "wowed" me, but I did like the part on deck at lunch where you could have them make your own noodle dish, I had all three sauces and it was good. LOVED Mr. Sancho's Beach, recommend for anyone as a stop in Cozumel. Clubs played great dance music at night, started with 70-80's then the hits, always an interesting crowd to watch. Lots of bachelorette parties, birthdays, family reunions, etc. Getting on the boat and getting off, very smooth, probably the best we have experienced.

Wonderful Experience by ShonnonS

I diffently recommend cruising to everyone that I know. It was a great experience and very relaxing. I would have just stayed on the ship if that had been possible.

Not so elated by ChristinaH25376

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean

I was traveling with three females 14, 25, and 47. The 14 year old absolutely loved the circle c club. Both adults found the entertainment a bit boring. If you weren't into karaoke or Vegas type shows that only left a pretty good comedy act and the casino. The food at lunch and dinner was good but the breakfast was so horrible I would have rather eaten at Denny's.
