It would be nice to be able to smoke around the pool it would be nice to smoke around the bar when you are having a drink. For a smoker it was not very convenient to always have to go to Deck 11 ! I am not a very good fan of the casino but I went to the casino to smoke no seating was available for us to smoke. I thought you could smoke anywhere in the casino but no you could not only a small area with no seating.
If you or anyone in your party have trouble walking please do yourself a favor and rent a wheelchair or electric scooter. It will make your trip a lot more enjoyable
Tour the ship, learn all the locations of it for entertainment, dining, relaxation, etc. Try every food area. We tried every free dining site that we could find and loved all. Pasta Bella was so-o-o delicious!
Skip the long lines at the eating venues on embarkation day for lunch. Bring a snack and then have an early dinner. Don't get a cabin over the theater! Enjoy all the evening entertainment...there is plenty to chose from.
Be prepared to be up late and sleep more during the day because everything starts at 6pm and it’s soo much to do that you will be up for the rest of the day and there is never nothing to do.
Familiarize yourself with the ship! I also did not know where to eat dinner the first two nights. Plan two hours for dinner, because between all the courses and waiting, you lose time. However, dining staff is friendly and put on shows, so the waiting is not boring. It also gives time to meet other cruisers. The only inconvenience for dining time was when I had an activity I wanted to go to start at 8 and did not get out of dining until almost 8, causing me to get not to get preferred seating (for me).
If you have to take carnival dream I would suggest checking capacity first because our experience was not good due to it being so crowded. We had to wait in line for anything we done. We waited in line for lengthy times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the buffet and the elevators wait time was awful. We took the stairs a few times because of the wait time length. (Our cabin was on deck 1 and food was on deck 10 if that says anything about taking the stairs)
