Review summary

It’s carnival, you are getting what you pay for. If you want a cruise with no frills, but is fun, go for it. It will be as fun as you make it, but teally carnival is the Walmart of cruise lines. We’ll go again for the value, but will go back to some other lines now that the kids are getting older.

Embarkation

Super quick. Faster to the fun is worth the $$

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Menu in the MDR has gotten tired. It was exactly the same as our last cruise. Buffett was as expected, guys burgers was good (of course). The pig & anchor bbq was really good too. Tried the tandori restaurant too. It was good, only 1 Indian restaurant in hometown to compare to, but it was worth a taste. Mongolian wok was good too, but line was Looong.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Everything was ok. No problems, but nothin extraordinary either.

Entertainment

Did not attend the shows

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Kids were 11 & 10 and the activities did not interest them. On last cruise they wouldn’t leave. This cruise they didn’t go back after day 1.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
MDR waiter, Ephraim, was fantastic. Sveti the room steward was on point too.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It was a nice, large ship and was kept up well.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
As expected. Clean. Quiet. Nice balcony. Upper Pullman was comfy, so was the couch and pusglhed together king

Ship tip

Check out the duos and trios in the smaller lounges.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana Did not visit port

Just spent the night in Metairie. Didn’t hit the nightlife

Montego Bay, Jamaica Did not visit port

Disembarkation

I don't find much of a difference in food quality between RCL and CCL. No complaints. However CCL has way better entertainment and things going on at night. We found RCL to be pretty dead after 9-10pm. In fairness, the age demographic of RCL is on average much older. I'm 52, but not dead yet. We prefer the funship line.

Comical seeing that many like myself have tried the others and came back to Carnival and their Fun ships. Now we are home again. The others didn't have the quality cruises that we have come accustomed to.
