A: Rule is not useless. it has been well documented that vaccinated people have a lesser chance to get COVID and if they do, symptoms are less severe. now that the omicron booster is available, I will be getting a 3rd booster.
Answered by DACruiser57 on September 3, 2022
A: Yes only if not vaccinated, which doesn’t make sense to me. I am vaccinated and can get on a ship untested and may very well have covid and never know it. It’s a rule that is useless.
Answered by woody20 on September 3, 2022
A: I’m not saying vaccinated is useless, I am vaccinated myself. I’m just saying test everyone or no one. It does no good to test unvaccinated and along comes someone vaccinated and untested , have it and speak it.
Answered by woody20 on September 3, 2022
A: And if you have it and board you can spread it just as if you weren’t vaccinated. So it is useless. You can have all the boosters you desire and you can still catch it. I do know a few friends that caught it and were very I’ll being vaccinated.
Answered by woody20 on September 3, 2022
A: depends on if you are vaccinated. read the requirements on their website.

Q: We’re headed to Galveston at the end of July on a Saturday morning to board the Dream. We haven’t been there in 10 years. Coming in the night before doesn’t work for us. Does anyone have any information and tips about the ferry coming into Galveston? Wait times? Best time to catch it? Is it easier to drop off luggage and then park? We’re coming in from Louisiana and don’t want to go near Houston or deal with 45.

A: The back way to Bolivar Peninsula ferry will add two hours to the trip. Did it last week and waited in the ferry line for an hour and this was on a Wednesday so add longer for a weekend. i10 to 45 south is the best route. Make a parking reservation... at lighthouse parking and they will take you and your luggage to the terminal . Come on in to Galveston on 87 (45) turn left on 29th. To lighthouse. Have a blast…See More

A: we are coming from that direction and always go down Hwy 146 at Mt Belvieu (before Baytown). It will run into I45 right at Galveston. We do this everytime. Head down Broadway (it is what 45 turns into once on the island). Depending on where you are p... arking will determine which street you head down to the port on. Usually 23rd to 25th Street or even Kempner are good choices. If you want to ride the ferry, do it on your way home, if you have the time.See More
Answered by jkstafford on July 10, 2022
A: There is a lot of construction on Hwy 146 around Kemah that can stack up before Nasa Rd 1 heading South, that you should be mindful of.
Answered by cruisinKell on July 10, 2022
A: If you have the time (2 hrs+) the back way is a more relaxing and scenic drive. Ferry website: https://www.txdot.gov/driver/travel/ferry-schedules.html
Answered by cruisinKell on July 10, 2022
A: The Galveston ferry has a Twitter page. Wait times are updated several times a day. No app or account necessary.
Answered by daisydoozy on July 9, 2022
A: On a Saturday you really shouldn’t have any trouble getting around/through Houston. If you just come in to the loop on the East side of town (Beltway 8/Sam Houston toll), south to 45 — you’re already south of Houston. 45 through Webster, league city... isn’t terrible. No idea about the ferry, sorry.See More

A: https://www.portnola.com/cruise/parking-directionsHopefully that helps.Be aware cruise terminal parking options can be expensive. I'm paying something like 80 for my 5 day in Galveston. I think I paid like 95 (cheaper lot too) for my 7 day in march.... Sadly parking somewhere else and taking an uber or something isn't any cheaper and they know this.See More

A: We use lighthouse parking and have never had an issue.
Answered by Luv2Cruise2014 on July 2, 2022
A: I meant port parking. they sometimes will have a discount code. You just go online and pay then print it off and bring it when you park
Answered by mary0909 on July 2, 2022
A: We’ve used portparking.com several times. Covered indoor parking and they have a shuttle to the ships. It’s within easy walking distance of the port, which I like.
Answered by bluewatermoon on July 2, 2022
A: There are quite a few options in Galveston. I suggest go online and look for your needs. We use Cruise parking .We drop our luggage and take the shuttle to the ship

A: I take quite a bit of meds and I've never had to bring the bottles. just have them separated in the daily containers. I also bring and extra container (1 week) filled, just in case
Answered by jkstafford on June 24, 2022
A: If any of the pills are on the Schedule 2 list then it's best to bring just those in their original prescription container. That way if the CBP port dogs (or TSA if flying) hit on the controlled substance you will have on hand the fastest way to prov... e legitimacy.See More

A: To be on the safe side, just take a photo of each of your prescriptions.... normally not checked anyway
Answered by stevesea on June 22, 2022
A: Nope. All of mine are separated in a morning/evening container. No issue. Just remember to put them in your carry on, just in case your big suitcase gets misplaced or delayed. Thanks
Answered by Carnivalfoodie on May 21, 2022
A: always bring a list of your meds, usually a printout from your doctors in case there is an emergency the medics know what to give you and there are no drugs that counteract with treatment.

A: We sailed last month and 2 of our cruise companions had to retest at the port because they tested 3 days out, that being said, they were up to date , meaning they had both received there first and second vaccine in February which means they wouldn’t... have been eligible for a booster yet, and they still made them retest which was very stressful to say the least. They said it should have been 2 days 🙄Either they need to clarify or they need to train the staff better about this issue. If you have just gotten vaccinated for the first time recently why wouldn’t you be able to test at 3 days, makes no sense. Also we had VeriFLY and all we had to do was show that and our boarding pass, another one of our cruise companions had to show everything on paper even though he had VeriFLY, needless to say he had the same staff member as our retested companions. 😵See More

A: It's 3 days out if you're boosted and 2 days if not. Just sailed the Dream last month and my wife and I took ours 3 days out we had no problems at check in, again we both have taken the booster.
Answered by sfcvan on April 16, 2022
A: 2 days before departure day, no matter what- even if you’ve been vaccinated and boosted 10 x. We sail on a Saturday and so we’ll get tested on Thursday.

A: Currently a ship has to keep aside a set number of Red Zone cabins for passengers in case there are any + tests done after boarding. Ships are reserving part of a single deck (either 1/2 to the whole starboard or port side). The area will most likely... be shuttered using the fire doors even if none of the cabins are occupied during a sailing. Crew quarantine is being done below passenger occupied level.See More

A: It was the best excursion we have ever done! It’s a long day, but worth every minute. The tour guides keep you entertained during the bus rides with lots of great information about Belize. You get to experience several different things! From the... scenic ride to the manual barge to carry you over the river to the amazing food and people! The bonus is that you can actually climb and explore these ruins unlike some others. You will love it!See More

Q: When boarding the ship, how do we find out where our muster station is located (as the code on our cards)

A: It will be on your boarding pass. When we were on the Valor in November, as soon as we got on the ship, there were crew members that were all over answering questions. We showed our boarding pass to them and they directed us to where our muster stati... on was. It was nice to get it out of the way first thing so that we could relax.See More
Answered by danahford on March 15, 2022
A: Make sure to check in at your muster station first thing. The ship can’t leave (Coast Guard rules) until everyone does and they will be hollering the names of the naughty passengers over the loudspeakers.

A: your card has the muster station letter on it and you can find where it is on the back of your room door.

A: look on the back of your cabin door when you pick up your card outside you cabin when dropping off your carry-on, and then follow the signs when walking down the stairs. it's not hard don't stress about it.
