Amazing Vacation by krislete

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This cruise was amazing!  Weather was good -there were a couple days that the seas were really rough but that didn't stop the fun. The captain did a great job. It was sunny and 83-87 degrees every day .  it rained a couple days but it only last for about 10 minutes and then it was gone. The ports were all incredible.  The beaches are all so beautiful. St Kitts is one of my favorite islands!  Grand Turk and Margaretville was crazy fun. I met so many new people - some that I will be friends with for a lifetime! Cruising on Carnival is always a great vacation.  They live up to the name "The Fun Ship"  I would recommend to anyone that has never cruised before to try it! And for all of you that have gone before and know you love it, what are you waiting for?  Book your next one so you have something fun to look forward to.  I booked for next year while I was still at sea this year  Happy   Happy cruising  Big Smile

Excellent Cruise! by pwsnightowl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Carnival Conquest is the perfect size ship; not, too, big but with lots of space and activities. The cruise director, Josh, is the best! He has an unlimited enthusiasm, seemed to be everywhere on board, even doing the trivia in the Atrium lobby, and he held excellent historical lectures on the Titanic and WWII that were informative and entertaining.

The itinerary was great, we loved each port, and the weather was wonderful!

Disappointed by oodles423

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I have been on over 20 cruises and I have never had a rude staff person until this cruise.  Customer service desk, person in charge of the pool deck, casino help all RUDE.  My sister in law fell in the casino on the wet floor not one staff person came to help her a passenger helped her up.  Our waiter was good but the bus boy was only seen on occasion, no coffee ever offered, had to ask for the bar waiter for our shots, food choices were awful, I think it is because they want you to go to the specialty restaurants.  We went to the steakhouse it was excellent our waiter Victor was above excellent but the hostess that took our reservations was awful.  The hostess the night we went who was the one in charge we found out later was rude and snotty. The entertainment was terrible except for the singers And dancers. I feel that the bigger ships must be taking all the good staff and entertainment.  One of the ladies I traveled with used the medical services a few days and was very pleased with them. The girl at the shore excursion desk was great I wish I got her name she was the best staff member on board. Even though I have had not had much positive things to say we all had a great time we made the best of it after all it was a vacation, we are just spoiled from the other lines much better than carnival.  I have sailed three times with carnival that's it for me.  We also did not get our on board credits while sailing I feel the customer service and travel agent should have dealt with it but I had to all they did was hand me the phone to call. I did not want to deal with that while I was on vacation.  Leo knapp was our agent he was awesome to work with he always helped and answered anything I asked.  Even though our credit was not on our account while sailing he resolved it and we are getting a credit on our charge cards, much more than carnival did for us they did nothing.i probably could go on but not worth it.

Things that can go wrong by ran5512

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

First off, after our 7th cruise on board Carnival and getting lots of freebies, this ship had no freebies for us. The refrigerator door came off in our hands. Had a cold shower on Friday, March 11th due to faulty hot water heater. They turned off the water on Thursday morning to flush out the system, something that could and should have been done while in their home port. Food choices were just average. Buffet line for breakfast was identical every morning. Lines for the comedy acts were way too long and no seating was available even before the shows started. Wife was expecting $300 gambling money only to find out that as not true. This is probably the last cruise aboard Carnival.

GREAT FUN ON OUR WINTER "GETAWAY"!!! by chucklulu

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My first cruise at age 70+! I was always afraid to go because of severe motion sickness. My "bucket list" demanded that I must go. My fiancé and I had a wonderful time and motion sickness pills made for smooth sailing, even in some rough seas. The crew and food service personnel were the best that I have experienced anywhere. we took side tours in 3 out of 4 of our stops - all great fun! We went to many of the shows on board the ship - all excellent. Kudo's to Josh for all the fun aboard the ship and special thanks for his history lessons!! I would definitely recommend the Carnival Conquest and we will definitely do another Carnival cruise - thank you sooo much!

Excellent ship by Tanglebird

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Beautifully decorated ship.  Excellent cruise director.  Great entertainment throughout the ship.  Many activities.  Many comedy shows with several comedians.  Good dancing opportunities.  Very friendly staff overall.

We enjoy taking couples dance lessons.  These were unavailable on this ship.  They had some line dancing lessons both at the main pool and on the stage of the theater, but no couples lessons.

Great Caribbean cruise. by mmfrett

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall this was a wonderful cruise.  Service in the dining room was excellent and the types and variety of food on the Lido desk left nothing to be desired.  There

were so many kinds of salads and scrumptious desserts. Mmmmmm!  They were

mouthwatering.  The  shows at night were dazzling and exciting.  The choice of

islands for this itinerary was good and the tours offered by both Carnival and

Shorex  were enjoyable, with friendly, knowledgeable tour guides.  Our cabin steward was friendly and personable and we had a great time,

Nice cruise by april423

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This cruise was ok compared to others we have taken. The ship was overbooked so it seemed like we waited in line for everything. Getting a table the first 2 nights in my time dining was horrible. Food places closed too early and there needed to be more free things for adults to do.

The ports were great,  room was nice with lots of storage areas, and had great kids programs.

Intresting trip, friendly staff by nanabees2004

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Nice cruise awesome staff, Only bad thing I can say is that the food was never hot when served , it was warm but never hot like you would normally get in a restaurant but they don't serve over a thousand people at one time at a restaurat either so I totally understand, that is why we went to the buffet a couple of nights or got a hamburger we had a pretty good chance that it would be at least a little warmer than in the dining room. Also, we being a table of two ,seemed to be served last, even if we were seated  before the larger tables, were could never quite figure that out. It was just odd.

Carnival conquest by pattymhowell1

Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I wasn't disappointed in the ship or staff but very disappointed in the chafes with all carnival cruise ships. The food quality was horrible. The dining room was better than the buffet. The buffet was food that apparently was served for dinner in the dining room the day before, reheated baked potatoes,I am thinking of a different cruise line for the summer vacation.

Conquest - good value for the money by tom71449

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was in pretty good shape for its age.  Most areas were clean and neat.  We had an excellent steward and dining room staff.  The dining room food was good.  The buffet food was poor to fair.  The entertainment was basically the same with a little different theme each night.  The cruise director was a historian and gave some great lectures on the Titanic and D Day.  This was one of the highlights of the cruise.  We used this cruise to do more relaxing and not go on the excursions.  All in all, we had a good time.

just okay... by jghear

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ports were actually very nice, but the food and service left a lot to be desired.  Our mistake is probably we have already been on several higher-end cruise so we can't help but compare this experience to those.  An example would be after ordering our wine, it often took 30 minutes to actually get our drinks in-hand.  And, more often than not, the food in the buffet was over-cooked as well as our selections in the dining room.  the saving grace for us on this cruise was the excellent fish served in the "fish & chips" spot on deck 10 and the amazing burgers made fresh at the Guy's burger joint on the Lido deck by the pool - I would easily compare them to the taste and freshness of the famous In 'n Out burgers. stateroom and dinner dining shortcomings by adkr36

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had an thundering sound that intermittently woke us up multiple times on 5 of 6 nights in room 2395.  Staff tried to identify the source of the sound but could not due to it being so intermittent. The boat was full so we could not move. Food, especially for the the dinner dining room, was of lesser quality than expected.  We were at a table for 10 for late seating - that had just 4 persons on most nights and they would not move us to other tables that had vacancies. Breakfast in dining room was good and having some company at a larger table was pleasant. Sorry to say the Burger and fry counter had some of the better food on board. Plenty of food to eat at the buffet, but the quality of much of it was company cafeteria grade. One performer was apparently replaced at the last minute, and another show was changed when a lead performer was sick. One female singer/dancer stepped up with a very good performance when a co-performer was sick, and carried one show.  Bar service was below average - we had several long waits as the bartenders tended to service customers at the ends of the bar and ignore customers in the middle. Comic shows were very good.  Some onshore excursions were fun.   Boat was very clean virtually everywhere.

Great way to spend 8 days by Ghost66

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We have cruised many times and all with Carnival. As always 'The Fun Ships' were great. Plenty to do on the cruise and the food was fantastic. In fact, I only have 1 negative thing to say about the entire 8 day cruise. Where we stopped on the Dominican Republic was boring and lacking in anything to do near the ship. I have friends who vacation on that island, so I know it has some pretty areas. However the Cruise terminal is not one of those pretty areas. I would have much preferred a longer day at either Grand Turk or Aruba in exchange for the day in La Romana. Other than that we had a great cruise and will be back on a Carnival ship in a few months!

Family Cruise Conquest 2016 by masleyjr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Had a great time with family.  The Conquest needs some work - floor tiles in the Lido eating area very worn and cracking - needed to be replaced.  Ceiling fell down on the Lido Deck next to the main pool area - took 3 days to fix.

Guest cabins were great - we had an outside room and it was very spacious and clean.  Now that Carnival offers the drink package - the staff doesn't seem to be as attentive when coming around asking if you want a drink - this happened on the Lido Deck and during the shows, including the comedy shows.  It is faster to go to the bar yourself and get a drink.

Ports of call were GREAT during this cruise - Grand Turk - La Romana, DR - Curacao and Aruba and we all had an Awesome time - there was a group of 18 of us.

Also, VERY disappointed that they discontinued the Captain's Reception with the Gold Members - only offer for Platinum and Diamond.

Great Southern Caribbean 8 days by jhhyde

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My wife and I had a great time.  The weather was perfect, as well as the ship and crew.  These people have quite a responsibility and in most cases a difficult job, but they performed admirably.  The ports of call of Grand Truck and Aruba were outstanding,  made us think about moving there! Permantly. The addition of Guys Burgers was a great idea, as witnessed by the long lines from twitter directions.  Those chefs certainly knew how to pump out the burgers and fries.

Fun vacatio by bjcustis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The food, service, entertainment, and ports were great.  The only downside was that the entertainment was always in the lobby, and casino. If you wanted to enjoy listening or dancing you had to arrive an hour early to get a seat, so most of the time we had to stand with a hundred other standing guests. Why they don't put their bands in one of their huge bars I'll never know. That's the way they used to do it. They had a wonderful guitarist in the smoke-filled casino, so therefore we never stayed to listen to her.   The comedians were great too, but it was always standing room only.  They should have them in the theater so everyone could attend.

We did anytime dining. They used to let you make daily dinner reservations, now you stand in line and get a beeper. We waited an hour and a half to eat one evening, so following that we showed up early to eat. Anytime dining became early dining for us, so I'm not sure it really is anytime dining. It's eat early or stand in line and wait for an hour dining.

The ship is looking worse for wear, but very clean.
