Food was so so by larryacord

This was our first Carnival cruise in a couple of years and our expectations were much higher than what we received.  With the exception of the first formal night all the meals were bland.  Staff & service was great.

Carnival 8 Night Southern Caribbean Cruise by karenp45

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My husband and I enjoyed ourselves immensely on this trip.  The crew members were extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive.  There was entertainment around the pool all day and movies in the evening.  We were greeted at the gangway with fresh, dry towels upon returning from a rainy day on Grand Turk and fresh ice water upon our return from hot days at the other ports.  Transportation was readily available at all ports if not on a Carnival excursion.  There were activities each day for all age brackets.  We enjoyed the comedy shows after dinner and the singing & dancing shows also.  We usually made a stop in the casino each night.  Even though we booked an inside cabin to conserve money, we had plenty of closet space and a nice sized bathroom with shelves for our toiletries.  The Conquest was kept clean in all areas.

Worst cruise by cdipeco

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Old and dirty ship the only good thing destinations . First they gave us wrong rooms we wanted  2 rooms with adjoining balcony Carnival head office said they wouldn't compensate us for mistake and we paid lots of money. Also dining room 2 elegant night table next to us was Carnival staff were given 5 star service because the head maitre d told our waiter to take care of that table we actually heard him tell him and us that we are paying customer got no service at all. It was very insulting for my family and myself. We actually complained that night and were told that they would take care of us the next evening that was complete BS. I am disappointed in Carnival I paid lots of money and they don't even care and don't compensate and acknowledge the paying customer complaints. 👎

An OK Cruise by bac36910864

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

La Ramona, Dominican Republic, Curacao and Aruba were good ports of call. Unless you are going to do some water event Grand Turk is really not worth the stop. Loved the Altos de Chavon 16th century village at La Ramona.

Was disappointed in some of ships programs and lack of services . Even though I booked two months ahead I couldn't get flex dining and then without asking me they put us in early dinner so I had to jump through hoops to change to later. They have no information or help about ports of call other then to sell you excursions. And they have no weather information on the ships TV information channels. You have to go to the Deck 3 general service desk to find out the next days forecast.

Room was serviced well and food was generally good.

My favorite part of cruise was the itinerary, with southern Carribean destinations in an 8 night cruise.  Carnival's shows need improvement for sure.  I would recommend this cruise to others

the cruise was nice....hamburger joint was great for lunch !!!!!!

dining room and servers was wonderful.

the seafood shack by the pool area was terrible...overpriced and not exciting at all...why the extra fee...not sure.

Elizabeth the bar lady by the big pool was a little curt....not very friendly at all.

(short cropped hair..older lady)

overall..the cruise was nice and my family enjoyed themselves.

Did not quite meet expectations by Cruiser48147932

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean

The ship is very nice with clean rooms and public areas.  All of the staff are so polite and friendly.  We love that we have a minifridge in our room!

The only thing that needs improvement is the food.  The food in the upper decks was good, about par for what we expect.  However, the food in the dining room was hit and miss.  A lot of the dishes were flavorful and very good.  However, a lot of them were also bland and tasteless, such as the shrimp curry.

Just okay by Review

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Chef's Table, and island excursions.  Steakhouse restaurant was extremely good.  Staff was wonderful.  Ship was just okay.  Bubbles program was a joke.  Had to go to a bar to get a soda.  If a soda was requested with a meal there was charge.  Soda was from a can,  you only got a glass full and they used open cans from previous customers which often time was flat.  Even if I paid $3 a soda, in 8 days I would have spent less than the $55 charged.  You need to improve this program.  Take a look at other cruise lines, they are better.  The buffet food was less than good.  Poor quality.  The main dining room food was better but not the same quality as other cruise lines.  Our servers and hotel staff were magnificent.  The main theatre show was not very good.  Singers were not very talented.  Shows on other cruise lines are a lot better.  This will be my one and only Carnival cruise.  Royal Carribean and Holland America put your line to shame.

Conquest cruise by msgeoo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The itinerary was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at sea so we could relax.  The inclement weather cast a damper on things for a couple days but thankfully we didn't miss any ports.  The selection of food and restaurants were great for the most part.  I absolutely loved Guy's Burgers.  Entertainment was excellent.  The only down sides were that there was a big problem with adolescences roaming the ship being loud and obnoxious, especially at night during all hours that either woke us up or kept us from sleeping, security was hard pressed to be able to track down the culprits, and disembarkation didn't go as it was presented.

Very pleasant cruise by jmjarmoore

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We enjoyed our cruise very much.  It was our first time on Carnival after having cruised on Princess, Norweigian, Costa and Royal Caribbean.  The food was great (we missed the theme dinners we enjoyed on other cruises), entertainment excellent and all service people were awesome.  We want to especially compliment Pauli who taught all 3 of the dance classes we attended.  He was lots of fun and very encouraging.  Our waiters,Ronileo, Genbong and Yusren were very accommodating and made sure we enjoyed our meals.  The ship was very cold.  It would be environmentally friendly to make it a little warmer.  We also found all of the photographers in the walkways annoying and didn't like the pressure of being asked to have our picture taken all the time.

Not sure I would rebook on this ship by rpierce021266

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Conquest is definitely an older boat. There was rust in the pool on the bottom and sides. The service was much slower and there were noticeably less staff throughout the boat. There was a coffee ring on the counter in our guest room from our coffee cup and it was there the entire cruise. They also left dirty dishes in our room. We had to remove them. Bed was only made in the morning but not turned down at night. (all other Carnival ships I have been on did turn the sheets down at night)The first night of the cruise in the dinning room was a disorganized mess. The remaining night we at in a different area and had much better service . I have cruised several Carnival ships and never had this low of quality of service. It also took much longer than previous ships to disembark.

Great casual party boat by irinegibilisco

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship is very clean and the crew is friendly and accommodating. Lots of tasty food, although the menu does not vary too much from day to day. Nightly entertainment is not very good, and the daily activities are not imaginative.  However, for those who just want to relax, drink, and eat, a perfect place to be.

carnival conquest cruise by lindanelson8

I picked this particular cruise because of the ports.  They were all

wonderful.  The water at half moon cay was absolutely beautiful.

and the ammendities at Amber Cove were superb.  The cruise itself

was good.  Our room was a good size, the staff was very friendly, the

food was good, what more could you ask for.

the conquest by janetestewart

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Staff is always warm and friendly.  I did back to back and it was a very easy transition.  Embarkation was horrible. Room was packed, nothing to drink or eat in the VIP area, soda machine broken.  I had to clean drawers and closets in my stateroom.  Carnival has eliminated deck 10 forward as a smoking area leaving only deck 10 mid ship. Very crowded, unable to lounge on decks for sun or activities around pool.  Had to carry chairs from around the ship to lounge in smoking area.  3 times I got up from my chair to go have a cigarette and when I came back, my chair had been taken.  I was told " I should have said something", I shouldn't have to. Entertainment fair.

We had a great cruise. by karandsher

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We have been on other cruise lines, and we want you to know that Carnival is the cleanest, friendliest, and most fun. We always saw crew wiping, picking up dirty dishes, and asking us if we needed anything. The entertainment staff was excellent. The shows were incredible, and the comedy shows were very entertaining. The food was delicious, and wait staff in the dining room was absolutely delightful. Ratna, Enis, and Petoir were the best.

The only thing we really missed on the cruise was the camera on the front of ship, so we could see when ports were near.
