Family Vacation 2016 by rogerlewis

Two years ago we did a cruise on Royal Caribbean... it was OK.  This year we did Carnival... waaaaaay better.  We had a great time!

Lots of things to do one the cruise.  The family never struggle to find something fun.  My only comment was that Key West was a bit disappointing.  The beaches there are not great.  In the Bahamas they are beautiful.  Probably the clearest water and whitest sand I have ever seen.  I will do Carnival over Royal Caribbean ever time.

Family Vacation by tksshamburg

We had an incredible time on the cruise.  O2 was great for our teenage daughter.  Club Ocean was not so great for our 11 yr old, as kids 6-11 are in the same room.  She felt it was too young for her.  Food was great and we are really missing the ice cream that was available 24/7.  Be sure to take advantage of the photographers every night.  Had a GREAT server by the Lido pool, Inyoman.  Remembered our names and drinks everynight, and asked where we were if we missed a night.  Had a couple great servers in the dining room as well, Gerard (Big G) and Maximo.  Carnival melting chocolate cake was to die for, ate it about every night.  Plan excursions, esp in Jamaica, as the ship docks in an industrial area and cannot really go anywhere on foot.  Loved the turtle farm and stingray city, even though the turtle farm felt rushed.  The amazing Cozumel race was a ton of fun as well.  Ate lunch at Cucino del Capitano and was pretty disappointed.  Service was poor and directly under the basketball court, so it was pretty noisy.  Boarded the ship at 12:30, and room was not ready, had to wait another hour + to drop out stuff off.  Other than that, had an awesome time, kids keep asking when we can do it again!

Carnival Breeze 7 night Western Caribbean Cruise by sparsons4729

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Excellent cruise, our statesman Imam kept our towels replenished!  The food was outstanding.  All night pizza, Guy's burgers, made to order tacos and burritos, mongolian wok was awesome.  Not to mention the buffet and the dining room.  The service in the dining room was excellent a well.  Excellent variety of foods on the buffet for breakfast and dinner, as well as a complete desert buffet bar.  Guest services and excursion desks very helpful and friendly.  My only complaints were the swimming pools were EXTREMELY warm, not cool and refreshing as you would think they would be.  Also, they confiscated my fan which we use for background noise.  And I might also add I looked it up on there "accepted list" and fans were listed.  Another thing one of my expensive swimsuits was ruined by the exhaust from their engines.  It was putting off mists of oil into the air at the back of the ship where one of their swimming pools is located.  Had I know that, say been informed or a warning posted I would not have chose to go to that pool.  Brought it to their attention, they tried to get the stains out, 98% came out for a couple of days but stains reappeared.

Loved The Carnival Breeze by avwitherspoon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This cruise far exceeded my expectations. The Cruise Director, Jaime and her staff were amazing. We loved our Waiter, Alexander; it was fun getting to know him while dining every night. Our steward, Mae was great as well and always addressed us by name. The Carnival Hub app was very helpful; we used it all the time. My only disappointment was eating at the Steakhouse, Fahrenheit 555. It was okay, but I don't think it was worth the extra $35 per person.

Just don't do it! by janbigham

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Carnival Breeze is so unorganized that I won't go on it again.  Getting on and off the ship was terrible. We waited in lines for at least an hour to get off ship in Jamaica. One and half hours in Grand Cayman to get back on.  Lido buffet wasn't open at times it was needed for early docking. Air conditioning in rooms was subpar. I will not go on this line again!

Breeze needs good entertainment by Tonianne

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Carnival Breeze is a lovely ship with a terrific staff but the entertainment stinks.  I suggest that Carnival spend some money on some entertaining shows.

Do not book inside cabins on the 6th or 7th decks that are located above the theater.  We heard the music very loudly in the afternoon during rehearsals and in the evening when we didn't go to the show.  The second show doesn't end until 11:00 so don't even think about being able to sleep until it is over.  On Saturday night there was a brand new show and the bass was so loud in our cabin that we could feel the vibrations in the walls. It was awful!!!!

Nice cruise by brstaz8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

The cruise was good, I had great wait staff and Audi was a great steward. The room was extremely hot at night and there was a loud pounding at night.  Never dusting on the end again. I do recommend this cruise.

Wonderful Week by maryjohoerman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first cruise and I was amazed by the entire thing.  Jamie the cruise director was amazing.   The food was delicious and there was truly something for everyone to do.   The only think I disliked was the boarding and unboarding of the ship.   This seemed very disorganized.   If I could take that part away, everything else was simply amazing.

Ready to do it again! by jenluvsksu

I would definitely recommend the Carnival Breeze! If you are a first time cruiser, read, read, read! We watched the Carnival programs on the tv and read some literature in our room and learned about different things on the ship. We also attended a class on future carnival cruising and picked up more tips! The staff and other guests were all so friendly! If I had to do over, I would not pick Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was dirty and we were hit up multiple times to by drugs. Grand Cayman was nice, as well as Cozumel.

floating city not my cup of tea by moniqueguzman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Dear Carnival Cruise:

This was my 4th cruise, and I have to say sadly, I will never do this kind of cruise again. So many people, just a mass mess. I never used the pool or Jacuzzi. Ship not equipped to swim/water fun for such an immense amount of people. It was either just too many bodies or an infestation of kids and urine. It just wasn't my image of a cruise. Also when you have so many people, its hard to keep everything else at a higher standard. So many employees/crew looked disheveled with body order. I actually felt bad for them.... I can't even imagine how hard they have to work for such a large number of guests and the demographic of the average client for this kind of trip. I realize that I prefer smaller, more elegant cruise styles. Unfortunately my fiance (His first cruise) shared with me that this was his first and last cruise.

The worst part was our excursion to ChiChen Itza. Do you realize that we only had 13 minutes to roam on the ruins? I calculated this excursion, we spent 7 hrs 15 min just waiting. If you would allow me to break this down. 45 minutes waiting on Ferry to take us to the mainland, 45 minutes boat ride to mainland, 2 hrs bus ride, 45 min wait at entrance of site to get our tixs, 15 minutes our guide spoke to us, THEN 13 minutes on our own, GO! we ran to try to take photos and see what we could. THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. We ran, no, sprinted back to bus, otherwise it would have left us. Then the return trip all over, 2 hr bus, 45 minutes boat. Your description of excursion is misleading at best, it only mentions 4 hrs total bus ride. You need to rewrite your description, that you get 13 minutes at ChiChen Itza. I have to say our guide was wonderful, and I believe two things, that you need to be disclose exactly how much travel actually takes, and the tixs to enter the ruins need to be in the hands of our guide upon arrival. There is major bureaucratic problem, As I heard our guide say something to an employee from the ruins. There was definitely stress for him (our guide) to get our tixs to enter. If we would have had our tixs to enter, and not waited 45 min, but rather had those 45 minutes to enjoy the ruins, that would have been a saving grace. My fiance bought 5 tix, (my 3 kids, myself, and him) That was an enormous waste of money, and so truly sad to see one of the wonders of the world in that manner.

I did get to enjoy once, sushi, that was delicious. The tea party was very nice, and with the trio of violins was nice. I also enjoyed the art auction, and lastly the RedFrog. With those things, I gave cruise 2 stars instead of 1 star.

You'll notice that the things I enjoyed were a much smaller crowd or it was something you had to pay extra for and by doing so, yet again, smaller group of people.

The Indian food station was delicious, wish their hours were longer and also wished they were available on shore days in afternoons, like the hamburgers, and pizza were. That would have been a much healthier option. Both my fiance and I, could not eat anything gluten or dairy or beef.... our options were very limited. Wished your room service menu had more options. Wished there were more options during the afternoon hours right before dinner seating times. My fiance spent much of this time starving, and angry... he has more serious health issues than I. He needed healthy and solid food options that were just not available.

Our state room was nice, and the balcony as well.

The evening movies were nice.

We used the app.....the chatting didn't always work... app had some glitches, very annoying (fyi: I kept the app open)

The alcoholic drinks were very watered down. I had to order each drink with a floater, also very annoying.

I enjoyed the chess. Some of your chess pieces are broken.

We went to one show, comedy... unfortunately he was trite, and vulgar, not funny.

We were regulars at the coffee shop, and my usual place to escape were the yellow umbrellas right outside the coffee shop but on sea days, couldn't find any place to escape to. Very Sad.

I would have liked to enjoy the spa, but extremely too expensive, and there was no option to just enjoy a day, or just perhaps the sauna for an hour. That was a big bummer.

I got home very sad, wasted a lot of money getting there, and the thought of what I lost from work.... it was a hard pill to swallow. Very sad but moving on

Great Summer Kick Off by jbutcher

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Carnival Breeze is a beautiful ship that hosted more than I could have asked for in a summer vacation.  Lots of memories and relationships made.  The weather was amazing, the ports of call were fantastic and the on board experience was great.  Looking forward to my next cruise already.

Great cruise for family by elcorepro483

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

Enjoyed the cruise, service was great, ship was clean and well maintained. The

only thing I could give it an A+ was the variety of food in the dining room. Very

boring after 3 nights.

Some "Pros", but a lot of "Cons" by lscullylvn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Negatives:

1. Food is BAD.....comparable to Chili's quality

2. Bars are not consistent on the cocktails. Some bars make some drinks very different from other bars.

3. Swimming pools are gross. Lots of people drinking and never leaving the pool....ew

4. Many crew members do not seem happy

5. Itinerary should delete Jamaica, you are repeatedly warned by crew about the dangers, so why are we going there?

6. Did I mention the food was bad? Lost 2 lbs because I couldn't find decent food to eat!

7. Dancers were embarrassing bad. All but one cast member (young African American man), appear to have never taken a dance class. Don't know how they got those jobs.

Positives:

1. Cruise director is really great, lots of energy and cute personality

2. Cabin steward was VERY good, excellent service

3. Tendering was very easy in Cayman w little to no wait

4. Casino was fun, and slots paid back so you could play for a long time on little money

5. Serenity area is very nice and inviting

Breeze June 2016 by Firespaz67

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall the cruise was great. Lots of things to do. Slides, ropes course, pools, eat, excursions.... etc. The one thing I didn't like is doing the second formal night in the middle of the 3 days in a row land excursions. There are 6 of us(4 kids), and by the time we did a 7 hour excursion, the last we wanted to do is get dressed up. It should have been done saturday night (last night at sea) on the way back. Also the food wasn't as good on this trip. But, overall was a great time and lots of fun had by all.

The 7 day cruise to the Caribbean on the Carnival Breeze was GREAT!  My family really enjoyed the week on the ship and the port excursions offered.  It was the first cruise for our children, ages 19 and 15, and they really loved the activities available.

Nice...BUT by frankkelley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Eric in the dinning room and Jamie were high points... both were fantastic. Food was on par from what I expect while cruising with Carnival. Pizza from the Lido was not the best I have had. Guy's burgers were good - but the condiment area was always too crowded, maybe because so many of the disperser were not working so you had to search for one that was operational. Outdoor movie was good and enjoyed. Art was something I always attend and was pleased once more with the art and presentations. Ice carving - very good. Hair chest - I'll not view again.. same each time. Missed the Newlywed game. Entertainers were below what I expect from Carnival. the song and dance troop worked hard, but just didn't have the talent of previous cruises. Enjoyed the spa and had my first acupuncture experience - fantastic. Generally, the crew in general didn't have the spirit of previous trips. Seems more like the end of a long season than the beginning. Overall I would still recommend, but not with the same enthusiasm as in the past. The only real thing I was very upset about was the waterfall climbing trip while in Jamaica. The actual excursion was good and Sandy was very good. The problem was with the driver. I along with most on the bus felt we needed to get down and kiss the ground when we arrived. Never have I had so many people angry and blowing their horns at us. the ride home was even worse - not just the driving - but the selection of music he turned on. What started as good cultural music changed to what I would have to call gangster rap. We had children on board, women and men who should not be forced to listen to a constant barrage of cursing. Everything from the "F" word, to "MFs', the constant phrases of "suck my big black dick" and so forth. Even some racially offensive thing that should be done to white people. I complained at the desk on board but do not know if it made it back to the tour. Again, the tour was enjoyable - just the ride to and from.

Carnival Cruise Review by delorismcclendo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I have been on a total of six cruises and this was the worst I have ever been on. First of all, there were a number of issues booking through and making changes and/or corrections with the cruise.

When we arrived on Sunday at the port, we had to wait in line for over 5 hours.  It was extremely disorganized.  The entertainment was poorly done and inadequate. They didn't have good shows.  There was not entertainment and enough to do on the boat.

I would suggest that they invest in their an entertainment and activities.
