Review summary

We had an incredible time on the cruise.  O2 was great for our teenage daughter.  Club Ocean was not so great for our 11 yr old, as kids 6-11 are in the same room.  She felt it was too young for her.  Food was great and we are really missing the ice cream that was available 24/7.  Be sure to take advantage of the photographers every night.  Had a GREAT server by the Lido pool, Inyoman.  Remembered our names and drinks everynight, and asked where we were if we missed a night.  Had a couple great servers in the dining room as well, Gerard (Big G) and Maximo.  Carnival melting chocolate cake was to die for, ate it about every night.  Plan excursions, esp in Jamaica, as the ship docks in an industrial area and cannot really go anywhere on foot.  Loved the turtle farm and stingray city, even though the turtle farm felt rushed.  The amazing Cozumel race was a ton of fun as well.  Ate lunch at Cucino del Capitano and was pretty disappointed.  Service was poor and directly under the basketball court, so it was pretty noisy.  Boarded the ship at 12:30, and room was not ready, had to wait another hour + to drop out stuff off.  Other than that, had an awesome time, kids keep asking when we can do it again!

Yes, check with staff once onboard.......they have worked with us on a couple different ships as our girls are 6 years apart. I would say the camp staff has always been the most impressive on the ship. Have fun!

Check with the camp staff when you get on board. They let me move my 11 year old up to circle c last summer and he was about a month away from 12. He did try his camp out for the first day or two but there was not a lot of boys his age in his camp. So I went and talked to the circle c staff and they allowed me to move him up.

That stinks! 6 and 11 year olds are worlds apart!! Why not make an area for 6-8, 9-13 and 14-17 year olds? That seems more appropriately grouped.

jackierou    8 years ago

I know! And my 11 yr old will be 1 month away from beginning 12 and they won't make an exception for that either. He's bummed.

Ah man...this is going to be tough!! Thanks for letting me know!

@tammysfamilycruise carnival willnot make exceptions for siblings. I checked. They have to be with their age group. 😢

So my boys are 10 & 13...will they make them split up if they want to check out the clubs? If so, the 10 year old absolutely won't go on his own, very shy!

Not true for our cruise...all ages interacted most of the time. Some activities separate. But all wass good as we like to enjoy time together. Just our experience.

sunshine220    8 years ago

The kids group are seperated by age the two groups might have shared the same room but most of their activities are seperate so she wouldn't have really interacted with the 6 yr olds

Or maybe not...

Now that we are back home we can get the ice cream whenever we want it. :(

browngirl44    8 years ago

Oh sorry I definitely read that wrong!!

batch123    8 years ago

I take it to mean now that their home they miss the 24/7 ice cream.

browngirl44    8 years ago

I'm asking as well What happened to the ice cream??

rieverett    8 years ago

I agree about kids club my 10 year old daughter felt the same way

Steven112    8 years ago

Camp Ocean should have been 6-8 and another group for 9-11 yr olds. That's how it is on the ship we are going on anyways. And what happened to the ice cream?

shelbym    8 years ago

When my daughter was 10 she felt the same way about kids club on Magic. Regarding rooms...that is pretty normal unless you have FTTF. Sail the Breeze for the first time Aug 7th. Can't wait. Thanks for sharing!
