Review summary

Extremely disappointing, people said not to just Royal Caribbean on this one cruise but it was kind of hard not to. We will definitely go back to Princess cruises.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The buffets were all the same. Everyday the food was exactly the same. Hot entree were lukewarm at best

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
There really wasn’t much to do besides watch movies, which we did enjoy, or play bingo which was very expensive.

Entertainment

We never saw any

Children's Programs

We had no children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was excellent

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The ship was kept clean but you could see it was an older ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room was very clean. We were disappointed that there were no bathrobes. Other cruises we have been on, bathrobes were in the room.

Ship tip

Bring your own bathrobes and something to read.

We also had a fairly bad experience with Royal - this was our 7th cruise but first with Royal & compared to others this cruise felt like a cheap bargain basement type of deal - plus nearly everything on board could be done for an “extra fee” I mean feeling nickled and dimed to death”. We will NOT SAIL ROYAL again !

If you decide to try Royal Caribbean again someday, once you have sailed 30 nights, you will be Platinum level in the Crown and Anchor loyalty program. On the cruises going forward from then on, there should be bathrobes available in your stateroom. We don’t have a need for them, so we usually leave them in the closet.

This was our first cruise with Royal Caribbean. The staff were amazing unfortunately we will be sticking with Princess Cruises.

On another note I do bring my own bathrobe anyway I don't expect to have a bathrobe in my cabin

Cruising is not just about having robes. Usually on the ships they do have entertainment I have not cruised on the brilliance. Did you get the Cruise Compass in your stateroom every night to look at your entertainment? The only time you get robes is a very exclusive Cruise Line. I'm not worried about the robes I enjoy my cruise by doing things and learning about things going on my excursions. The next time you do take a cruise you can go back to Royal just because they don't have ropes
