Review summary

The cruise itself was very relaxing. Food really Needed to be a lot better. The food is a big part so this needs to change. The overall rating should be more like a 3 and 1/2 not a 4

Embarkation

Pretty well organized.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Main dining room food and buffet were not good. Stale breads, buns, donuts, meats were tender , but no good tastes. Lamb was tuff, sea bass was like fried fillets of who knows what. I have never had sea bass fried. The buffet food was room temperature what should be cold was not and what should be hot was not. Chops was even so,so on steaks. Coffee was good and drinks were good Sorry to tell you , Princess has MUCH BETTER food

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
pools were beautiful. Did not participate in rock wall but it looked great. Spa and fitness were looking good, I did not participate tho

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were really good entertainment. In the centrum area it was good , altho it was too loud, it just echoed all over

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
ALL staff were great, from room stewards, dining staff, all of them were very helpful and considerate

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very nice

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The design of closets , not good. If you had a door open you could not get into the room and same with bathroom. Had to make sure closet and Bathroom doors were closed to get into room. Good niches to store things and good cabinets. On Princess, you could walk into room straight and closet and bathroom off to the side. Bed was very comfortable and I really liked the little reading lights on lamps

Ship tip

Not sure, you won't know about the food until you get there. That was the worst thing. The ship was really good

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona was wonderful. Gorgeous city and lots to do

Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France

5 out of 5
Nice' France was a very cute unique city. Enjoyed the market

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
Florence was WONDERFUL. We did have a downpour of rain which cut into the day, which was a bummer. Had lunch and enjoyed the pasta

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

2 out of 5
The thousands of people was just unbelievable. Our tour guide was always up ahead of us and hard to keep up with him and always worried we were going to get lost. The coliseum was great but there too long , guide had too many stories of gladiators. Rushed through Vatican, cisteen chapel. We didn't get to see inside of Basilica, trevie fountain, or Spanish steps. VERY disappointed. The city will not let busses come close enough for people with walking issues

Salerno (Naples), Italy

5 out of 5
BEAUTIFUL. Amulfie coast was gorgeous, beautiful bus trip. Could have stayed longer

Venice, Italy

5 out of 5
A nice day and 1/2. LOVED VENICE. Boat trip to Murano and Burano islands. Great shopping ther and then in Venice at St Marks square. Great gnocchi at a sidewalk cafe

Ravenna, Italy

3 out of 5
Could have skipped this stop, not much to see. We could have had another day in Rome and skipped Ravenna

Did you eat your meals in the dining room or the buffet. If both would you recommend one over the other? I'm sailing in November.
