Embarkation

Fairly quick and efficient. I especially appreciated being able to access our stateroom by 2.00 pm, since we were very tired following an onernight, overseas flight.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Dining room - My steak was undercooked, and made me sick. Food was not as special as it should be. Buffet does great breakfasts.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Fitness center is good. Good variety of equipment.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Most shows were good.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room attendant was excellent, very attentive. Dining room and buffet staff were more concerned with our giving them good evaluations. Very annoying.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Well done

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Very comfortable. Good use of space. Bathroom is a bit snall.

Ship tip

Smoking permitted everywhere in the casino. Why can't there be a separate section for smokers? It's quite unpleasant Additionally, the staff in both dining room and buffet were persistently reminding us that they wanted to have a good review on the performance survey. It was a major turn-off to be bothered by some staff with whom we had minimal contact

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

4 out of 5
An interesting city. Warm people, interesting park above the city. Food is expensive.

Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France

Saw Nice, Monaco, MonteCarlo, and Eze. A good general overview of the area.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

Our excursion guides, Lucas, and Elizabeth, were terrible. Lucas was more concerned with telling us about his marriage/dating problems, and left us to manage on our owm. Elizabeth was even worse. She led us into a very crowded building, so crowded that we got separated from each other within the group, and she went on without several members of the group, leaving us stranded, and forced to find our own way back to the bus (a very long walk), unsble to ask directions in Itslian.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

4 out of 5
Very good overview of the highlights. Trevi Fountain, collosseum, and vatican. An area rich in historical landmarks.

Salerno (Naples), Italy

4 out of 5
Very scenic area. Be sure to get something lemon.

Venice, Italy

3 out of 5
Not as special as I had hoped. Very crowded around St Marc square. More pleasant on Malo island area....less crowded, with restaurants and cafés.

Ravenna, Italy

4 out of 5
Interesting region.

Kotor, Montenegro

4 out of 5
Took an excursion which gave a general overview of the area. A Harrowing bus ride, up narrow mountain road with 25 hairpin corners. Sometimes we would meet another bus, going the opposite way, and our bus would have to back out of the way. Very frightening. Many nervous or screaming passengers. Thank goodness our driver was very experienced. This excursion is not for feint of heart.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick and efficient.
