The ship is huge!!! It is one beautiful piece of engineering. No complaints from here. There is so much to do and so many places to eat that there's no way to do it all in on trip. The crew is first rate all the way. I would definitely sail on her again.Big Smile

Anthem of the Seas by ThomasDoyle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

I would have given this cruise a 5 star rating but there were several things I had to go to guest service as things were missing.   I ordered an anniversary package to be delivered to our stateroom before we arrived there.   The chocolate

covered strawberries were missing.    Then we ordered towels to be delivered and

again we had to go to guest service to see where are towels were.

Other than that, we were thrilled to be onboard the Anthem of the Seas for our first

cruise, celebrating our honeymoon/anniversary.

The staff was very friendly and treated us as family.

Happy

Anthem of Seas by inspiringpj

Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

The stay in Bermuda was too short. I would like to see Royal stay at at Bermuda three or four day stay at the island. I enjoyed my stay on the ship and the island but it was too short. I preferred the Seven days stay.

very good by taricemayo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

all the activities were good. The boat was terrific and the service was great. i think the only thing i would change is the activities for 5 year old. everything was 6 and up or the height was to tall for her so she had to play in the very small kid pools. Also if one of the restaurants could stay open a little later.

Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

This ship is magnificent my wife and I did a cruise to Bermuda 5-day and we really didn't get to see the whole ship we enjoyed the pool the spas the casino the workers on the ship are some of the top they were very polite anything you need anything you wanted they would try so hard it was a great Cruise we would go again it's a great cruise for people in their fifties and sixties because it's kind of nice Solarium area it's a slow pace very nice families would love it also though because there was so much to do bumper cars lowriders roller skating hot dog truck any type of food you wanted at any time there wasn't that many kids on the ship but they were well behaved and they were always busy it seems like cheap cruises did a great job as usual they are right on spot we did not miss a thing made all of our reservations through them there was no issues no problems we got on had a beautiful Cruise got off everything was excellent I would definitely do this againBig SmileLove

Getaway perfect by capamiller

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Never had such a short cruise and was a little apprehensive.  not so, was just right for a relaxing GETAWAY and come home refreshed. Entry could have been a little more organized because of all the on line work before sailing.  Mix-up with pre arranged gift in cabin, not much "make it right" disappointed for the price that was charged to our daughter. (  50th Anniversary gift )  Sailed about 10 trips and food was a little less quality and availability was short.  Drinks available in cafes (on demand) water convenient, but flavored waters had artificial sweeteners (not specified) bad for people who cannot tolerate Art. Sweet.  Cleanliness good, staff great for the most part, departure has to be improved!!!   Parking charge could be less especially for longer stays.

5-night Bermuda - Anthem of the Seas by mrobbinsct

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Great ship.  Great variety of venues, indoors and outdoors.  Plenty of places to find places to relax.  Entertainment was generally very good.  Would like to see a little more variety and frequency of entertainment as opposed to just a few "big shows".

Bermuda aboard Anthem of the Seas by Jim101

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

I really enjoyed the ship, plenty of amenities and very attentive staff.  Quality of the food in the main dining room has slipped from when I sailed with Royal Caribbean several years ago, but it was very well prepared.  The NY Strip with Green Peppercorn sauce was particularly good.  This was my first trip to Bermuda and I spent several years in the Caribbean, so my expectation for an island was colored by that.  The shopping was not as good as I had anticipated.  The beaches however were great; the sand is powdery and soft and doesn't get hot as in the Caribbean and US beaches.  The reefs lacked color due to the cold water corals, but were very expansive, given the intense protection Bermuda has I would have expected more sea life around the reefs but it was as lackluster as the corals.  Transportation around the island was relatively easy the bus and ferry system was reasonably priced and dependable as long as you're not in a big hurry.  The view from Gibb Hill lighthouse was worth the climb from the bus stop to get there.  St Maarten is my favorite island and with that as a 10, I would rate Bermuda a 5.  Overall our trip was relaxing and enjoyable, I give it 4 stars.

Bermuda/Boston Cruise by Cruiser75300587

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Our favorite part was touring Bermuda and Boston. The food was good but in the past it has been better.  This is a very large ship and the dining rooms and windjammer do not appear to be able to handle the 4400 passengers nor does it appear that there is enough wait staff to handle a full ship.  Wait times for getting the food was lengthy. The stateroom was great as well as the attendant we had. Getting on and off the ship was the fastest we have ever experienced.  Kudos to the changes! Our party of 13 had a great time and would definitely recommend this destination!

Will never sail on an RCCL cruise again by cgraham324

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: North America

Was very upset at being nickled and dimed to death for everything on this cruise.

I have never been on a cruise that charged for room service, $8.  Thought the prices of the drinks were too high, and not that strong, no nice little amenities, like chocolates on the pillow at night, or a pen in the stateroom. The mattress was so hard, that I had to have the cabin stewardess pad the mattress so that I could sleep.  Bought a coffee card for my husband and I, only to find out it was a punch card type process.  A small cup of coffee with a syrup was one punch, if I wanted that coffee iced, it was two punches.  Frapps and venti size coffees were two punches.  Plus, on other cruise lines, if you bought a specialty coffee you were entitled to a free cake.  Not on this ship.   Food in the pay for restaurants was very good, except for Izumi, awful sushi.  Jamie Oliver's was terrific as was Wonderland.  Food in the main dining room was okay.  The steaks were very good in all restaurants.  The wait staff in all the restaurants were excellent.  The ship itself is beautiful and full of fun things for kids, we had a seven and three year old with us who enjoyed the ship to it's fullest.  I found it too crowded, too many people.  Embarkation was the best I have ever experienced, but going thought Immigration in Boston and Customs in Bayonne, was a horror show.

Did find that some of the staff at Customer Relations were brash and when asked questions gave the wrong information.  I will never sail on a RCCL cruise again.

Not for the health conscious by dkeller313

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: North America

If you are health conscious you will really struggle with the food. You would think that being so technology oriented they would be more aware of healthy foods. A gym and a yoga class is not a replacement for healthy food choices. We were basically instructed to eat salad.  Very disappointing. No variety of foods for us. I have been on other cruise lines such as Holland America that has a vegetarian/vegan menu with multiple choices.  I have even been on other Royal Caribbean Cruises in the past where there were vegan choice even if they were not labelled as such. This ship with its technology has the illusion of being health conscious and forward thinking.  Its not.  Its just gimmicky.  Very disappointing.

Comic named David...................Not again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by snnh386

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

I thought Royal was aware of their hiring of comedians on their ships.  This comedian on this cruise was in no way funny.  Being a African-American, I took offense to his joke about hanging black men. If he had made fun of the Holocaust, his routine would have been addressed by the proper officials.

After over 15 years of not being on Royal Ships, I thought I would enjoy my cruise.  I DID NOT !!!!!! I am sorry to say that this may be my last cruise with Royal.  I took it VERY PERSONALLY his so-called comedy routine.  The food was great.  The chef took good care of friends that I was traveling with.  But for now, my family and friends will be aware of the comedy choices that you make.AngryNervousSO lonRCL

My Husband and I missed the whole cruise due to sickness by susanl471

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: North America

Sad to say, when we entered the ship, we were beyond

excited to celebrate his Big Birthday on the cruise.

When we boarded, we were told to go enjoy a Buffet

lunch in there public dining area!

so we ate, and while eating I notice people we touching the food, then

licking there fingers, then going to station to staion

touch and  contaminating food!!!

Hence, the next morning day 2 my husband and I

were very sick, and not to  contaminate other  passengers

we   Quarantine ourselves for the rest of the cruise!

missing dinners, shows, and ports of calls!!

And all the perks that come with being A Diamond Plus

member on RCCL.

if your company could relate this review to our cruise it

would be appreciated!

Our problem of getting sick on this cruise, came from

people  contaminating food by touching it , and causing

us to  contract a virus that lasted the entire week!

Anthem Always by bhwood

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: North America

My favorite part of the Anthem was how quick you can embark and disembark from Bayonne, NJ port. The modern decor and the closet space in the cabin was great.

If you have dined on RCCL cruises you know that the Windjammer (buffet) is normally not the place to eat. However on the Anthem at times it was better than the main dining room because of the variety of food selections and the made to order pasta and Asian stations. The seating availability is still the one improvement that could be achieved in the Windjammer.

The shows were great and even comparable to Broadway.

Overall the Bermuda to Boston and back to Cape Liberty was a good itinerary.

I would definitely select the Anthem again.

First & last time on Royal Caribbean by bigrockhead55

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

There are a lot of charges on this line which are free on other lines. Too much time wasted standing in line for elevators, for dinner etc.s and you need reservations for everything.  Never Again

The Steven's Bermuda Cruise on Anthem of the Seas 4/29/17-5/6/17 by ssstevens

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

I enjoyed the Anthem of the Seas ship.  My room with a balcony was great and the bathroom was a very good size.  Loved sitting on the balcony and just reading and relaxing.  A lot of drawer space for clothes.  I enjoyed my walk on the top of the ship every day and exercising by walking up the steps.  The food in the main dining room was hit or miss.  It could have been much better.  However, our waiters were fantastic.  AUBREY GABARDA and JAN MICHAEL SAN JUAN went out of their way to make sure that we were taken care of.  They were pleasant and very helpful in explaining the menu to us and we looked forward to going into the main dining room because of them.  Thank you Aubrey and Jan Michael  we appreciated everything you did for us.  I would definitely cruise aboard the Anthem of the Seas again and I have already told some of my friends about it.  Plenty to do on board and you have many places that you can go to just get some me time.  Enjoyed the cruise very very much.  FMStevens
