We did on our own and walked through town and shopped and did some people watching. We had planned to walk to the beach but the weather wasn’t great, but very much enjoyed stopping at little cafes for cappuccino and relaxing.
Wow! I cannot begin to describe how great our day was! We booked a tour through Tours by Locals that took us to calm beaches on one side, over the mountains (through the clouds) to the other side to rocky shores. We had a island specialty coffee, and stopped at a local restaurant for an authentic lunch. The whole day was amazing, another small group with just the six of us that were traveling together.
Liked the port but not our excursion that we booked through the ship. We traveled to the cathedral which was beautiful, but did a walking tour that lasted 3 1/2 hours. It was information overload after the first half and we were too tired to do much exploring on our own during the short time we had left for that before the bus headed back to the ship. We would not have booked this tour had the description given been accurate.
