Review summary

All together, I enjoyed this Alaskan cruise very much. May want to come back next year with some of my siblings. I enjoyed all the ports that we docked on. Some of the ports are walking distance to the town or a free shuttle bus that will take you to downtown are available.

Embarkation

Very organized. Arrived at the airport and was met by Holland rep at the baggage claim area, gave us instruction on where to board the bus that will take us to the port.

Food and Dining

Food was good on the dining room but could be better, Pinnacle as always is very good and had a pleasant lunch. Lido is also very good.

Onboard Activities

Used the coupon for the one day thermal suite which was very relaxing.

Entertainment

The evening show are very entertaining and the ships dancers and singers were great. The magician, comedians, Pianist were also great.

Children's Programs

Do not have any children with me.

Service and Staff

Our waiter and his assistant were very nice and accommodating. They know how you want your water, coffee or tea.

The ship is clean and you can see the crews were always making sure that everything is cleaned and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin is always ready and cleaned when we come back from breakfast or shows. Our cabn steward and his assistant are very helpful and accomodating.

Ship tip

This is my second cruise with Amsterdam and so I am familair with this ship. Its the right size for me and its not crowded compared to bigger ships.

We did a lot of excursion on our own, taking the city tours, joining passengers on short walks, etc.

Very nice and clean. Saw a couple of black bears, and a lot of bald eagles.

Juneau, Alaska

Took the bus tour around the city and really enjoyed the scenery . Walked to the Nugget falls close to the glacier, amazing site.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Not much to see here but still enjoyed the bus tour. It was drizzling when we docked then later on rained.

Did not participate on any excursion. Walked to the "Yellow Arch" (McDonald) and used thier wifi.

Nice port. Took the shuttle bus to downtown and walked to the park.

Took the city tour around Victoria. Nice day there, did some shopping at the Empress hotel.

It was a little disorganized. People were all crowded on the gangway and was late in letting passenger disembarked.

My experience matches your on the Amsterdam. The ship is so easy to get around on & one never gets lost due to its size. I will be on her again in January for an extended period of time.
