great boat. too old. a few months before cancelling Roatan, the best port and on the day of the last stop at Costa Maya, the supposed 3rd largest boat in the world, couldnt dock because it needs an overhaul and one or two motors were not working!
Allure of the Seas Cruise Review to Caribbean - Western
great boat. too old. should compensate for cancelling Roatan, the best port . and on the day of the last stop at Costa Maya, the supposed 3rd largest boat in the world, couldnt dock because it needs an overhaul and one or two motors were not working! Best lobster night. Great idea with central park but not good in night area for people to do stuff. too early closing. Best Pizza *highlight of the cruise. Great surfing. Best cleaning cabin person ever.
Embarkation

faster and easier than any other i have done, but the lady at the port who took my passports and ticket, was not nice. strange to have such lady in customer facing service.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

very good. better than most i have been too. lobster was the best ever in a ship. congrats. desserts can improve. sevice very good. icecream/yogurth should be open later. Pizza, the best ever. My kids all said was their best anywhere. having it until 3Am was the highlight of the cruise.
Onboard Activities

missing night activities and more organization to move people together through such large ship.

for my 7 year old, thiks was the best kids camp in a boat.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
best cleaning staff for my room (Ray). Our dinner guy ended very well and did his best. He is a good guy, but could be a little bit more friendly with large groups who require more patience. Either way, i would have him again, but he was not my best ever like our cleaning guy in the room.
Ship Quality

beutuful but older now.
Cabin / Stateroom

old so floors not that clean due to old carpet. best cleaning guy ever. the room amazingly fitted all of us. only can be improved by a suite, and i didnt want to pay for more. so in line with any other room for 5. very good beds and pillows. bathrrooms good. so only would add some more electric outlets. one of three wasn-t working.
Ship tip
not worth to go during most expensive week of the year and until boat gets remodeled. especially because it didn-t have the power or motor to dock costa maya port. organize yourself very well because there is a lot to do in the boat that you might miss. the size is good for those who like time on boats vs ports.
needed more time there. food was good, but shouldn-t charge for water park. much less such amount of money. learn from disney and all they offer in their island.
too early and short of a visit on a key party day *dec 31. so needed at least a 4pm departure. pity as i have never been in a cruise with only 50% of stops visited.
your motors were not working to dock! hope you can compensate for this. will not stop talking about thisonline or to anyone as it is an abuse from one of the most expensive cruises anyone can go on. and from a supposedly bettter cruise line.
We were on the same cruise as you. Agree with all your comments except for Costa Maya. The reason we did not dock there was not due to the motors but because of high winds. Two other cruise ships were stuck at the Costa Maya dock because they could not leave port and therefore we could not dock.
We were on the Allure in November and it was wonderful. We couldn’t dock at CocoCay because of the wrought seas there and I’m sure yours was weather related and not the ship. Maybe cruising isn’t god you.
It sounds like cruising is not for you. The ship is 10 years old, so it’s not an ancient ship. Cruises miss ports for a variety of reasons- weather, mechanical, political, medical, etc. Everyone who books a cruise has to agree to the contract that states that no specific itinerary or port is guaranteed.
I doubt it was engine trouble as it has about 6 driving generators to power ships propulsion systems and it does not need all of them to cruise or dock. Oasis class ship are first to bail in docking in port under unfavorable winds do to very high wind profile which was likely reason it skipped them.
