Review summary

NOT a good experience, food was bad, pool areas were WAY too crowded, could not ever find 2 pool chairs next to each other. Ship was SUPER ROCKY. Rumor was that there was a stabilizer broke, and that is definitely how it felt. Was my second cruise and after doing some all inclusive resorts in between, we will not be doing another cruise again.

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Was ONLY impressed with the restaurant we had to pay extra for. Buffet was always awful, cold and hard food. Main dining was decent the first day, the farther we got into the week the worse the quality was. Salads were warm, food was cold that should have been warm/hot. Dessarts tasted old like they had been sitting on the carts for an hour. Did not want to spend any extra as we planned on paying the price with food included, but after being suggested to try the Italian restaurant, we did and it was amazing. However if the only place you can get decent food are the restaurants that cost 60$ extra a person, we should at least be aware of that. Cruise was also EXTREMELY rocky, there was a rumor that a stablilizer was broken, and that's DEFINITELY how it felt. Was with 17 other people on the ship and they ALL got seasick. We will NEVER be going on a cruise again after this experience.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Pools were EXTREMEY CROWDED. There was 1 pool that was meant to be for children, could probably have accomodated 50-60 kids, there was probably 500 kids minimum on the cruise. Therefore kids were overtaking every other pool. Adult pool was TINY. Could probably accomodate MAYBE 20 people. That's insane for a cruise with 6000+ guests on it!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Night entertainment was good. Not good enough to make the cruise worth it.

Children's Programs

no kids with us

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Good service at dining room. Getting drinks at any bar or at the pool took FOREVER.

Ship tip

Do NOT sail this ship.

Ports of call

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
Good area right off the ship if people just wanted to get off for a bit and shop. We went on an excursion to Meagan's Bay, it was beautiful! May favorite part of the cruise: getting OFF THE SHIP.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Did another excursion to see the city, would highly suggest this.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas Did not visit port

Weather was bad, did not port. Was not even excited to see the Royal Caribbean's own mini island as it's just another money grab way for them to take more money from us. However really wanted to get, GET OFF THE SHIP.

Disembarkation

Did not check our bags so we could get off ASAP.

So glad to hear that you will never cruise again. That is great news for the rest of us.

We sailed on Allure last April and enjoyed it. Food was outstanding! Ship was just too big (lots of walking) for someone with artificial knees. Will go back to Carnival however.

I'll add we sailed the Alure last January and loved it. Food was great. This is why I don't put a lot of weight in reviews. Haters gonna hate.

I know for a fact the adult pool will hold many more than 20 people. Sounds like your expectations are for land based pools and it's just not possible on a ship. They seem very generously sized to me.

I find it hard to believe. We have never had those kind of problems.

Cruising is not for everyone, RCCL is our favorite and have never had a problem. You probably would have done better on one of their smaller ships but then again maybe not. We love cruising and it works well for us.

Definitely sounds like cruising isnā€™t for you. Most love it, but itā€™s not for everyone. Any ship will have movement when seas are rough. Itā€™s always a good idea to be prepared with something for motion sickness. We were on another Royal Caribbean ship in November and found a good variety and quality of food in the main dining room and buffet. I believe the menus are similar across all Royal Caribbean ships.

We were on that same cruise and it was wonderful. Your taste buds couldnā€™t have been working. We had dinner in the MDR every night and it was absolutely delicious. We never went to main buffet as we donā€™t like buffets and there are so many other free venues. The Park Cafe was great for lunch. Delicious salads and prime rib sandwiches besides everything else they off. So many other places for breakfast and lunch. No need at all to spend money on specialty restaurants. Yes, the ship was a little rocky at times but we didnā€™t notice anyone having problems. Theyā€™ve had the propelsion problem for a long time and hasnā€™t been a problem so I think a lot was the ocean, not the ship. And itā€™s going into dry dock soon to be fixed and ship to be refurbished. The only time there was a problem with crowds was the day we couldnā€™t dock at CocoCay. It was a very cold dreary day so hardly anyone was by the pool. You should have hone then, Anyway, we loved the cruise, the ship and the food. Bring on the same ship at the same time and you didnā€™t like it at all. Maybe cruising isnā€™t for you. Cruising is the best vacation ever šŸ›³šŸ
