Adventure OTS fun but smoky! by lfowler1125

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas

Fun family cruise but I’m spoiled by the Oasis class ships and their higher quality of food, staff, and entertainment. Would not cruise Adventure OTS again due to high amounts of casino smoke flowing into other areas of the ship.

Really enjoyed our cruise on the Adventure of the Seas by jkbShipmate

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We really enjoyed our cruise on the Adventure of the Seas (cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to the Cayman Islands and to Mexico Oct 20 to Oct 26). We had just been on an older, smaller ship, and we realized how much we liked the larger ship with a greater variety of activities.

Perfect 40th Anniversary Cruise by crusies

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

It was a wonderful and memorable 40th Anniversary cruise. From planning 18 months ago to debarkation, the process was pretty smooth. We had a luggage and flight service issues with American Airlines, but we arrived on time. We had to skip Halifax due to a sub tropical storm, but all was good in the end. We enjoyed the great selection of cuisines over the 13 days. Never lacked for something new to try. Specialty restaurants were excellent, but so was Windjammer. Ports of call provided for varied interests. If you decided not to go on an excursion in some of the ports there was no way to find any kind of souvenirs immediately off ship and for those who have walking or other disabilities that might be disappointing. It was for us. BUT that did not take away from the wonderful time we had to share together. Royal staff made for PERFECT expression of our 40 years of loving each other. We felt special in the midst of 3200 other cruisers. Thank you Royal Adventure of the Seas!

Snow Bird Cruise Quebec City to Ft. Lauderdale by jbenham

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

A BULLET POINT REVIEW OF OUR ADVENTURE OF THE SEAS CRUISE OCTOBER 7-20, 2019 • Overall we would give this ship a 4 out of 5 rating. • Ports were Quebec City, Prince Edward Island, Sydney, Halifax, Bar Harbor, Portland, Saint John, Boston and Port Canaveral. Disembark was in Ft. Lauderdale. Due to strong winds and choppy seas, we had to bypass Halifax. • Embarkation was a breeze, once we got to the terminal. The seapass we printed out worked for purchases on the ship until we got to our cabin and picked up the key card. • Our cabin steward was Corina and she was truly awesome! • Adventure of the Seas is a beautiful ship and accommodates about 3,000 passengers. We have sailed it before, in 2008, but it was refurbished not too long ago. • The food on the ship is very good. Some people will complain that there was little variety, but they must not have paid attention. Every night was a theme night in the Windjammer buffet that featured food from other cultures. There was also basic food that you could get every day. If you enjoy breakfast, the Windjammer was an awesome spot to eat because we could get almost whatever we liked. Their pastries and baked goods were really good. There was ice cream every night and a soft serve yogurt machine available all day. • Internet was very good most of the cruise. We got the single device package and traded off. No sense buying two packages when one will do. • Overall the service on the ship was terrific! Bar service in the MDR was really bad, though. This seems to happen a lot. • We encountered 3 major storms. As mentioned, we had to bypass Halifax and had to leave Boston early due to storms. We also had a major storm going in to Port Canaveral. We were able to cancel our planned excursion and get a refund. • You may have heard about the passenger that had a stroke and had to be medevac’d. That was our ship and the storm made it more difficult. • We only had to tender at Bar Harbor and that went pretty well. We also had to pass through customs twice and that went quite swiftly. • One minor complaint is the slowness of the elevators. Sometimes they would pass us by several times before stopping and often they were full. It really didn’t help that one of the 4 elevators was out of service often. • By far, our favorite bar was the Duck&Dog Pub. They had the best bartenders and servers. It is also close to food and entertainment. We also liked the Pool Bar, but it was a bit out of our way, and the weather generally didn’t lend itself to spending much time there. • Speaking of entertainment, we didn’t go to many of the stage shows. The magician was really good and the ice show is always worth going to. For the ice show, you no longer need to stand in line to get tickets. Now you need to stand in line before the show. First Come, first served. The Top Tier Event was a waste of time. The house band, Mega 4 was very good and we often planned what we were going to do based on when and where they were playing. We weren’t very impressed with the pianist in the Schooner bar, but seem to be in the minority as he had quite a following. We also didn’t like the bar service in Schooner, which is something I never thought would happen. Others mentioned specific bar tenders that were really good, so maybe we just had bad luck the times we were there. • Disembarking was fast and easy. Since we had already gone through customs in Boston, we did not have to do it in Ft. Lauderdale. Very hot and humid day. Plenty of taxis available, but we managed to get the last two seats on the airport shuttle. Much cheaper. We did curb side check in at the airport and I highly recommend this as the check in lines inside were very long.

Fall migration by mgreen542

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Highly recommended cruise particularly the Canadian side. A bit odd that we started in Canada then entered the USA (immigration) back to Canada (immigration again) and back to USA (immigration a third time).

Interesting Snowbird Migration Cruise by Robin4160

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The cruise was fun. We did get to see the leaves change. Travelers should be aware of possible weather conditions during this time of cruise. We were impacted by Tropical Storm Melissa and missed the Port of Halifax. Also, we incurred a “Bomb Cyclone”; which, caused us to leave Boston earlier than planned & arrived in Cape Canaveral later than planned. Many people became sea sick. We were the lucky ones that did not get sea sick.

Rocking and Rolling by doreenandgreg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Wanted to see some of Canada. Great cruise but for us, one and done. We prefer Caribbean, Hawaiian and TA’s. Leaving Boston we ran into a large storm, per captain waves up to 35 feet, winds at one time measured 85 mph. Had a medical emergency that required us to turn back toward Atlantic City for a coast guard evacuation. Congratulations to the coast guard and the captain for a great evacuation in those conditions

Great trip by DDOASIS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The crew was excellent. We experienced two tropical storms and although the ship rolled and pitched it was not bad. Wish I could have visited Halifax but due to weather I'll have to do it next time.

Great Cruise, Great Ship, Great Ports, Just no Fall Foliage by johnbegs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

These cruises are not fall foliage (unless you like green) but really Canada NE cruises to visit the ports. If you like small Canadian cities (plus maybe Boston or Portland) than sure. If you are looking for real fall colors - need to stay on land and drive through VT and NH later in the season. Might be better on a smaller ship - Adventure layout not good for cold weather and mostly older crowd
