Review summary

There are some things I was disappointed with but all-in-all, it's a cruise, I'm on vacation, so it's good.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick, seamless, on board by 11:00 am.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Only used the Windjammer for dining.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I wasn't interested in many of the activities because they were the same that are on other ships and cruise lines.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Best.......Jimmy Hopper, Oh What A Night, Comedian (first night). The rest of the shows were just okay. I thought the Farewell Show was really short and uninspiring.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
My room steward was new to the ship and was efficient. A Windjammer serving staff member, Mayur, was exceptionable and this was his first cruise EVER!! He will go places with cruise companies.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Although the ship was clean and maintained well, the staterooms were very dated. The public areas were refurbished and look good.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Smaller than other ships I have sailed, the bed was a bit hard and uncomfortable, storage in bathroom is small (for 2 or more people) but okay for a solo cruiser.

Ship tip

Expect great service as RCL does on all ships but remember that this ship first sailed in 2001.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

Went from hotel to port.

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
#2 Best port on the itinerary. Great shopping and very "New England" feel. No excursion, just walked around town.

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
Walked around town, very nice city and shopping was great.

Saint John, New Brunswick

5 out of 5
Walked around the port and shopped. Another great port. Wonderful City Market.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

3 out of 5
If you do excursions (which I did last year) the attractions are really nice. If you are looking to walk around town and shop, not great. Many restaurants but not much souvenir shopping except in the Port Market, which was rather small.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

5 out of 5
Walked around the port and shopped. Another great port.

Quebec City, Quebec

5 out of 5
#1 best port of all. So much to see, many restaurants, shopping is "off the wall" great. Beautiful historic buildings and of course......Chateau Frontenac.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
I had an excursion with airport transfer so the experience was quick.
